3 reasons to believe Georgia will beat Ole Miss in Sugar Bowl
3 reasons to believe Georgia will beat Ole Miss in Sugar Bowl
No doubt, these Bulldogs have brought great cheer (and cheers) throughout the season, growing into title contenders right before our eyes with dramatic, and of late, dominant, victories.

Good points Mike. I hadn't thought much about the potential transition issues with both coaches and players. Yes, their minds may be partially elsewhere, but I do think the Rebels will be ready and bring their A game. They seemed plenty dialed in against Tulane.
I expect our defense to rule the day and make it a lower scoring contest.
Nice article Mike Griffith.
I say it again. Ole Miss spent no time preparing for Tulane. They have spent the entire time gameplanning UGA. This game will determine whether an offense with no downfield passing game - or even a threat of one really - is viable. If UGA wins this game with no problems scoring, expect a deep playoff run. If they win the sort of **** defensive and special teams battle that we saw against Georgia Tech, then that will be a problem for the future. Especially if the semi-final game is against Ohio State, who has a former NFL defensive coordinator (Patriots) as their DC.
Merry Christmas everyone!
I’m sure Georgia didn’t spend any time scouting Tulane, other than to see what worked against ole miss because they did move the ball for over 400 yards.
Go Dawgs!
UGA has never had any trouble scoring on Ohio State.
Nicely done, Mike.
You see it the same way I do. Ole Miss is good, maybe very good, but the team they will play in the Sugar Bowl is the team they played in the 4th quarter of the game they lost some weeks ago rather than the the team they thought they were beating in the first three quarters of that game. Ole Miss hasn't changed much, but the Dawgs surely have.
Georgia Tech's potent offense scored how many points? Texas? A highly motivated Alabama in the SECCG?
I won't pretend Ole Miss hasn't done well since losing to the Dawgs in mid October, but, as I see it, the Dawgs are peaking while Ole Miss's coaching staff and team focus are leaking.
49-13, Dawgs!
Go, Dawgs!
I don't think we will have to play Ohio State. They won't make it past Miami.
Thanks for something to read on a holiday . Merry Christmas Mike .
@randomsportstroll Looks like you're struggling to get past that loss that GT took against the Dawgs. This was supposed to be the year that Brent Keys and the 30 year old QB would hand the Dawgs an "L", but then it all came crashing down. Now that Bama failed to even show up for the SECCG unlike you predicted, you are now hitching your wagon to Ohio State to take down Georgia. UGA has a game with Ole Miss and that's who all of the focus is on right now. We don't care about Matt Patricia or anyone else that's different from the last time we faced them. CJ Stroud played the game of his life, and it earned him a trip home! You should probably stick to pukin'-up stats from your parents' basement because these predictions aren't working out very well for ya!
GO DAWGS!
Nice smackdown, GoodOlDawg. Ouch. And no one as deserving as the troll.
Go Dawgs!
I'm thinking Ole Miss starters/rotation players with eligibility are focused on the TP for there is money to be made in the Bengal Bayou….those with no more eligibility and potential are focused on the Draft….injury cancels those hopes….I see a hard fought first QTR then the Ole Miss will accept the inevitable….Dawgs 42, OM 17.
If UGA doesn’t want to be embarrassed at the Sugar Bowl, they need to be focused like a laser beam on Ole Miss and practicing hard and long as if their lives depended on it. The season definitely does.
this season reminds me of the momentum UGA had at the end of the 2007 season. That year a disheveled dawgs lost to South Carolina but got it together for the cocktail party. And at the end of that year UGA destroyed Hawaii.
had the playoff been in effect, Georgia may have another banner hanging. No one wanted to play Georgia at the end of that season.
im trusting Kirby has the team laser focused and ready to rock. Let’s get it late early and roll on. Also, gotta add that I’m routing for Miami, would love to have a crack at Sid the sloth and see if we can get him to turn the ball over with 4 ints.
either way, go dawgs!
"Vetdawg"—I remember that Hawaii game very well. Hawaii came in with a QB with tremendous stats and a lot of confidence. At the end of that game, I actually felt sorry for him(can't remember his name), we hit him so hard and so many times, I didn't think he would keep getting up. This was a a great team we had, and like you say, nobody wanted to play us at that time. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYBODY!! GO DAWGS
