Gunner Stockton looks for a much better showing as he returns to the Sugar Bowl

Control the LOS and don't turn the ball over and we will move on IMO. Gunner hopefully won't have to play Superman in order for us to advance.
"Vomiting all over themselves in the middle eight"—**** Conner, that's wordage I've never known you to use. We're gonna have to give you the First Annual UGA Literary Award for writing. Let's all hope that loss last year motivates these young men to great heights!GO DAWGS
"Stockton has been better than good this season for Georgia, which is why the Bulldogs find themselves in the same spot they did a season ago."
Not just "better than good" but playing with an enormous amount of confidence. That confidence can/should resonate throughout the entire team from a proven leader like Stockton. When a team with this much talent plays with that level of confidence you have the recipe for success. Coming out "rusty" from the long layoff is a legitimate concern, especially for the QB position, but I am glad that CKS addressed it in some of his press conferences so we can be sure that he has his eye on that situation. This team needs to pick up right where they left off just a few weeks ago, playing with confidence!
GO DAWGS!
Pulling hard for Gunner and the entire Dawg Team. I've decided not to read all the hyperbole and hype, both positive and negative. My belief is that the Dawgs are "locked and loaded" with a mission to accomplish. We will come out focused with intent to cause destruction for this game and the rest of the playoff journey….
We shouldn't forget also that last year Kirby lost his Dad down in New Orleans. I'm sure some part of him wants to win this one for his father. I hope Sonny Smart gives UGA a little extra juice from above.
Stockton played very well in the Sugar Bowl last year. But when your 5th year senior and #1 WR only catches a single pass and then does absolutely nothing for the other 61 plays on offense, what can you do? When your other 5th year senior WR is absurdly your starting possession WR in a pro style offense when he only has the physique and skills to be a slot WR in a spread offense, what can you do? When your junior slot WR would have been fine as a reserve/special teamer but should have never been a starter on a team with SEC or national title aspirations, what can you do?
It would have been one thing if UGA was outstanding at other areas on offense, like the pair of true OTs combined with 3 NFL starters at RB like in 2017. Or the 3 true OTs combined with 2 NFL starters at TE and a third at WR in 2022. But no, UGA was starting OTs with guard footwork and skills in 2024. And the tailbacks were Travis Etienne's lesser talented brother - and the older Etienne isn't as good as Nick Chubb, Sony Michel or even D'Andre Swift - and a true freshman who ideally would have redshirted in Nate Frazier. Third string RB? Dillon Bell. No seriously. So when your third string RB is also your starting slot WR tell me what exactly Stockton was supposed to accomplish last year.
Making matters even worse, the Notre Dame game was a matchup problem. You had Arian Smith, Dom Lovett and Dillon Bell going up against the future #1 CB for the Bucs (Benjamin Morris) and the future starting free safety for the Falcons (Xavier Watts). And those were just the guys who drafted. The other CB, Jordan Clark, is on the active roster with the Jets. The strong safety is on the practice squad with the Steelers. (The Irish got both from the portal.) Christian Gray, Adon Shuler and several other guys who were backups in 2024 will be represented in future NFL drafts. So, it was a future NFL secondary against WRs not good enough to start for most SEC teams. It was truly unfair. Especially when other playoff teams got to play the likes of Boise, SMU, Arizona State and Clemson.
