Maddox and Harris were brought in as insurance at what was viewed as a thin, weak position of S. They didn't separate themselves from the players already here. Best for them to move on to another team where they can play.

agreed. Reality is you cannot come from UAB and expect to start at UGA, be a minor contributor at best, such as special teams. My real hope is we continue to have impressive walk-ons, such as the Dan Jackson’s, Cash Jones, Stetson type players…

For the most part I'd say you are correct. MANY programs are banking on getting guys from smaller schools out of the TP that they expect to contribute. At least w/those players (as opposed to HS players) there is some film of them in action vs some level of CFB competition.

With the increase in scholarships from 85 to 105 and the new maximum roster size of 105 players, "walk on's" as we have known them no longer exist.

I believe UGA will continue to emphasize finding lower ranked (cheaper) players with perceived ceiling for development. 1) because UGA has had some success with that and 2) out of necessity with NIL diluting the number of players, available to UGA, who now have many more suiters.

Finding a diamond in the rough "walk on" player is nice and a great story. BUT so far (and it is very early yet) the pattern of this off season is following the pattern of the 3 previous off seasons. 3 previous off seasons with 0 playoff wins. And, citing Cash Jones and Dan Jackson as significant contributors to winning games is a bit of an overstatement.

Aguero is the one I’m not understanding. He was a starter. Just like Pops left for Kentucky. I guess there is no loyalty anymore

Never heard of most of these DBs. Might be a good idea to clear out the dead wood and bring in better.

Why in the world would the NCAA and our universities want to increase rosters by 25% when the players now get paid? A roster of 85 is actually too large. I say limit a roster to 65 players. These players have brought this on themselves. I would also support a coaching salary ceiling of $5 million. I love Kirby Smart, but not a 13 Million Kirby Smart.
