I like Cignetti, myself. Seems to be my kind of coach. But, I think we need to pump the brakes on this Best Coach BS.

IMO....Cignetti can't sustain at Indiana. BUT....If he does it for 5 years....I'll bend the knee. Cause, as far back as I can remember....nobody has done that.

However,..."nobody" also never had Free Agency. The whole CFB World is about to turn upside down. Cause, everybody with money, is gonna be at the Auction.

Just a matter of who has the most....as to which team rises to fight off the Dawgs....next year.

Let's see what Cignetti can do....with everybody gunning for em. This year....Indiana was chasing the rabbit. Next year....the rabbit's gonna have a gun.

And, everybody knows..."It ain't no fun, when the rabbit's got the gun". Lol

Cignetti....Sarkisian....and, a many others have been building an Army for years....trying to knock "the King that's never been crowned"...off his pedestal.

    Long live the king....Kirby Smart!

You lost me at a hybrid with a 1k hp drive train…

This year we smoked Bama, that's joy enough for me…not bad for flathead 8. Wasn't Grubb dubbed a 1k Hybrid? I imagine Ryan Day should be on the hot seat as well, the old mazda rotary engine that he is…

I’ve read the “ What have you done for me now ?” Comments. And Yes that’s Reasonable and humanity being what it is it’s also Realistic.

The comment about people don’t care what you did three years ago. That’s also true.

BUT we as humans aren’t perfect either !! There’s an age old saying that has come true in Many things time and time again. And that is “ History is doomed to repeat its self”. I don’t know why whoever coined that statement used the word “doomed” as much history is not bad.

I think Cignetti and IN Will win the National Title. I have very little doubt that He and they will. And it’s possible I don’t know how probable that this might be just the beginning of a hot streak for him and his team.

But again going back to LSU with Burrows. There was the Same type and level of Hype. And LSU was a pretty dawg gone good team not even including Burrows !! No need to recount what happened after he left Yall already know.

I honestly don’t think there will be ANY team in All CFB that will make it to the final four less alone win the Ntl. Title on a Consistent basis. And please don’t stone me to death but that includes our beloved Dawgs.

Saban even at his age had oh I’d say 3-4 maybe even 5 good years left. But he Knew. His legacy had already got a little tarnish on it when NIL and the TP came out. So he took his GOAT legacy and hit the door !!

Just like Spaceballs the movie “Where are we ?” “ We’re in the Now Sir” What Now ? The Now Now Sir !! 🤣 So if Cignetti wins the Ntl. Title they’ll get all the usual hype and Should, they will have Earned it. But the 2026 season will start a New Now !!

One thing I’ve learned watching Kirby that’s NEVER underestimate him !! Numerous Dawgs fans and there were Allot didn’t think we’d get 12-2 less along the SEC Crown. And we Might not go that far next year. I have No Factual Idea. But neither does Anyone else.

All we can do is Hope and Speculate, Just Like we did last year. The Speculation is generally pretty fun and doesn’t affect the season in any way. I’

UNLESS Kirby Regresses Badly over Several years it’d be Extremely foolish in my view to fire him. Man just celebrated his 50th B day not long ago. He has Tons of football left !! And look at programs like UF, FSU, TN, and starting to look like possibly Bama and a little more far fetched but even Ohio St. That have fell by the way side !!

Mud Lizard fans would dearly LOVE what Kirby and the Dawgs have accomplished over even the last Three years !!! Heck they’d be proclaiming themselves the best team in All CFB !!

So my fellow Dawgs fans TAKE the Wins and savor them and just like a good QB do your best to TRY to push Losses out of your mind and LOOK to the next game !! One game at a time, one season at a time. Dawgs Glory Days are Far from over !! Go Dawgs !! P.S. Everybody has opinions but For Me until Cignetti matches and/or exceeds what KS has done he is NOT a Greater Coach. So he won his Conference and wins the National Title. Kirby can smile and say Been there, Done that. Care to see My trophy case ?

I’m not a fan of Klatt. He’s definitely a Big 10 homer. His comment re the idea of an SEC gauntlet not being true is a clear indication that his bias has tainted his ability to analyze strength of schedule. The fact remains that most Big 10 teams play an easier schedule than most SEC teams play. That’s undeniable imo.

However, his analysis re Coach Cignetti has merit. Watching Indiana in the CFP convinced me that Indiana is the best coached team in college football. They don’t make mistakes. Their roster consists primarily of 2 and 3 star recruits. However, they crushed a Bama team loaded with 4 and 5 star recruits. They also crushed a more talented Oregon team. Those Hoosiers are very well coached. In addition, both of their coordinators are excellent. They don’t play off wide receivers so the 5-10 yard quick out pattern is available anytime the opponent’s offense wants to throw it. Their O-Line blocks very well.

Indiana is seldom penalized. Play calling is to be envied. Bottom line: IMO, Indiana is the best coached team I’ve seen this season. Until Kirby stops being overly loyal to assistant coaches that need to be replaced, us Dawg fans will continue to be frustrated watching an extremely talented team struggle far more often than it should. Our offensive play calling will continue to range from excellent at times to frighteningly puzzling at times. Our pass coverage will continue to make one wonder what is going on at times, especially on those quick out patterns as we see our DBs often 5+ yards off. The lack of a pass rush at times will continue to haunt us. Our O-Line will continue to be unpredictable. We will continue to see extraordinarily talented tight ends thrown to as few as three times a game.

Yes, I could go on, but you get the point. I would replace both of our coordinators and offensive line coach. I would seriously consider replacing our WR coach. A serious evaluation of staff needs to be done.

Kirby's a great coach and an even better recruiter. But the NIL and TP have to some degree leveled the playing field and weakened Kirby's greatest strength, developing long term relationships with HS kids. I grew up where you pulled for your state school or you chose between 2 state schools like Auburn and Bama, Florida and Fla St. but overwhelmingly if you grew up in Georgia you were a DAWG fan! HS players from Georgia would die for a UGA offer. You were lucky to catch the DAWGS on TV, so that meant alot of Larry Munson and the radio(which wan't a bad thing at all). You also had to relay a lot onthe Sunday newspaper to get a game reap. Like many of you who are older I watched with my late father Hershel and the Junk Yard Dawg defense take down Notre Dame for the Natty! WHat a great memory!

However, kids today are following the money trail and although long term relationships still mean something, they don't mean near as much as they once did. Today kids can (with the right TV sports susbscription) follow any team their hearts choose growing up. THey are less likely to be homers for their state university. Many kids like the sizzle of flashy eye catching uniforms, and being able to show out on camera and draw attention to themselves (unlike the days of Saban where if you scored a TD or got a 1st down you handed the ball back to the ref and didnt make a fuss over it and didnt do endzone shananigans). UGA players will tell you UGA isn't for everybody. DIscipline is not seen as a virtue as much of late.

Most people in the football know that I listen to believe that there will never be a run like BAMA had under Saban and Kirby was starting to go on til NIL and TP hit and changed the game forever. Most believe that the Indiana deal is an outlier and that recruiting still matters. I guess we'll have a clearer picture in a year from now if that's true. Of course it won't be one or the other but some combination of both. One thing appears as much a certainty as anything can be in college FB and that is you're almost certain not to win a Natty with a first year staring QB. Maybe only slightly less rarer with a second year starter.

Ty Simpson was offered 6.5 million by MIami to not enter the NFL draft which he turned down. Lane Kiffin got on a private jet and flew to Knoxville to literally intercept the QB LEavitt who had just talked with UT and was about to board his plane and fly to Miami to check out the Hurricanes out but LK made him an offer he couldn't refuse on the tarmac! LOL!

Rusty Mansell told this morning of an agent he was speaking with who represented a player who had received around 100K this season but he entered the portal and the agent said he thought his guy could double that with another school but ended up with 500K to sign with the new school. It's the wild wild west these days!
