Jeremiah Wilkinson led the No. 21-ranked Bulldogs with 32 points, but he missed both of his shots in overtime, as UGA made just 2 of 8 from the field in the 5-minute overtime period.

No defense or rebounding will lose a lot of games, and I think they’ll lose a lot more before it’s over. This team will get bounced out of the first round IF they even get invited.
I’ve seen nearly every game on TV this year, and this was easily Georgia’s worst. Started the game acting like all they needed to do was show up… and got punched in the mouth. Then with virtually no scheme, and getting punched a few more times, they started chucking the ball up from all over the court (and missing). Instead of calling timeout and asking his team WTH, White let this circus continue. This was followed by bad pass after bad pass, and horrible dribbling after horrible dribbling for the rest of the first half, all of the second half, and throughout the OT. There is still plenty of basketball left in the season, but that crap needs to be flushed. Go Dawgs!
Will Josh Brooks be three years smarter than Scott Strickland in Gainesville & realize White is a first-4 out bubble coach at best? They have looked like the typical undisciplined, underperforming, go thru the motions Mike White team since they squeaked by that basketball powerhouse Long Island University at the end of a very weak non-conference schedule. Brooks steals a fleeing White from Florida who in yr 3 makes the tournament by the hair on his chin. Florida hires Todd Golden shortly after White slinks into Athens & wins the NCAA championship in year 3. I guess that kind of answers my opening question.
Street ball wins against inferior teams. This brand will lose more than it wins in the SEC. The pattern is always the same — pad your record early vs nobodies and lose at least half the games in conference. Rinse and repeat.
No D = No W's
Then you should apply for the AD position. You seem to know it all.
Same story every single year with this team. Start strong and beat up on weak non conference teams and then get destroyed when SEC play begins.
Another stellar Mediocre Mike moment. It’s like watching Titanic for the 40th time and still hoping for a different outcome for poor Jack.
Is a single basket in overtime really what we'd call getting "destroyed"?
The formula for a successful basketball season hasn’t changed since White was a point guard, himself, playing in the SEC at Ole Miss (1995-99).
“Take care of business at home, steal a few on the road.”
This aged well. I know, let’s give CMW a huge raise and contract extension. We would hate to lose him back to Florida…
I'm talking about their overall SEC Conference play. When was the last time UGA actually had a winning SEC conference record for a season?
Currently, it’s 2-2, with one of those being a last-second loss. Maybe let’s hold off a second. Not to say you won’t end up being correct, but there’s not enough to make that call yet.
I'm just frustrated with this team. I attended the game against Auburn and saw first hand how pathetic their rebounding was, especially in the paint on Defense. So many times, they had a 3 to 1 advantage in the paint and still Auburn would get the ball on the rebound. And of course the play calling has been substandard as well when it comes to close games. I really want this team to succeed, but its the same song every year.
Didn't see the whole game but saw the last 5(?) mins and OT. I have to give the MS D some credit. Suffocating defense. College basketball defense's have become incredible.
That defense showed in shot selection (where was Blue Cain?) and turnovers. Add in UGA's best big man (Cyril) fouling out (on a very stew pit box out foul) in regulation and I had a bad feeling how it would end.
The team is gritty and plays hard. UGA fought until the very end. MS scored the winning basket on a rebound flip with 0.1 seconds on the clock. Frustrating that they couldn't get a rebound, knock the ball in the air, something.
UGA needs to play completely unselfishly to reach their peak. They didn't down the stretch last night. Cost them.
Observations about CBB after watching so far this season. Like the old palming dribble call the walking call is not being called as much as it should be. The CBB game had gotten almost as physical as a football game with few foul calls. Unless it is a foul on a shot it's probably not being called. Both evolutions are detracting from the game of basketball.
