Former Georgia cornerback Dominick Kelly announces transfer to Ohio State
Former Georgia cornerback Dominick Kelly announces transfer to Ohio State
Kelly was not slated to be a starting cornerback for the Bulldogs in 2026, as they bring back Ellis Robinson and Demello Jones. Georgia signed Oklahoma transfer Gentry Williams and USC cornerback Braylon Conley out of the transfer portal.

The fact that Ohio State took him, given their well known development of NFL cornerbacks, tells me Georgia lost a very good player here.
Might be time to teach some of the young RB's and WR's to learn a new position.
Afterall....that's how the "Junkyard Dawgs" were born.
Erk Russell was famous for taking the Offensive Players Dooley didn't use...and converting them to defense. Steve Kelly was one of em, in '78-'79.
So it goes....that Erk used Dooley's Junkyard to build his ferocious defenses. Lol....I can see Kirby doing the same thing....to a limited degree.
Imo....there is a backlog of potentially great running backs, that won't get much of a look. Mainly, because they are scattered across all leagues in search of quality playing time.
There are a lot of quality backup RB's & WR's on most of the Power 4 Teams, that could make the switch relatively seamlessly. Football is football....and a good football player can be a great football player, on either side of the ball.
It's all in the attitude and desire to play the game. But....in current times....the money thing adds new wrinkles that make that kind of attempted move at the college level....risky.
Lol....there has to be meetings with agents & lawyers and a cost/risk analysis done by a firm hired by the players high school representatives.
I long for the old days....when it was just about football and competition. Now?....it's just competition. And, I don't like the lessons these kids are being taught by people that should know better.
They're learning nothing....but, easy come-easy go. Lol...you don't need higher learning to figure that out. Or, a million dollars, for that matter. Any fool can be rich. Holding onto it requires skill and discipline.
All we can be sure of...is that, Jr & Sr Bulldogs don't leave UGA without a plan and a map....and backup. If they are patient and keep their nose to the grindstone. Discipline. Imo....that's why CKS places so much value on "character".
Character trumps talent in a lot of cases. "Character" with "talent"?.........Well...that's the gold standard in Athens, aint it?. Lol
Yep...getting tired of losing players to OSU and Bama and Oklahoma, USC or Texas. Lol
However....at the end of the day, they went home before UGA. So, I guess it doesn't much matter. Beck is the exception. But, his transfer was complicated....and, necessary, imo. For both UGA and Beck.
That injury resulted in Beck's transfer, rather than the Draft. Beck was never gonna be quarterback for the '25 Bulldogs, going back to '23-'24.
Beside the question marks surrounding Becks physical status....Plans had already been made for Stockton, that made it difficult to go backwards even if they wanted to....imo.
I'm still pullin' for Carson. He's a DGD, imo. I hope he finds the right home at the next level. Maybe, Philadelphia. Lol
Lolol....btw....That injury to Beck's throwing arm and his freakish recovery.....And, the apparent resulting improvement in accuracy....Reminds me of a Disney movie about a young baseball pitcher.
Lmao....or maybe it's more like a Bible story. Samson. Didn't Beck let his hair grow out....or, was it cut? I know Bennett had a hair thing goin on, too. Who knows?. Lol
I'm not pulling for Carson Beck. Honor and commitment mean something.
It's all about those Benjamins. Guess UGA doesn't want to spend its profits on sustaining championships…. If you don't pay, you will not win.
The slow, long decline continues…
@jdatl3 What more honor and commitment do you want than staying at UGA for 5 years, starting 2 years, sticking around even after UGA changed from the pro-style offense that he was recruited into for a spread offense that didn't and getting his degree (in 2024)? Plus UGA had moved on. Did you want him to spend his last year at UGA on the bench? Why?
@BigDawg61 As for the "freakish recovery" … I saw Beck play this year and believe that he wasn't 100%. At the very least, the 3 weeks off after the regular season and not having to do much against Texas A&M helped him. Beck very much benefited from the week of rest that came from Miami not playing in the ACC title game.
And no, Beck isn't more accurate. Beck has Mark Fletcher (1100 yards despite battling through injuries and personal issues) running the ball and Malachi Toney (99 catches for 1100 yards despite being a true freshman) catching it. Compare that to what Beck had in Athens last season. In the process, note that Dillon Bell had much better numbers as the starting slot WR last year with Beck than he had starting on the outside this year with Stockton.
Well, normally I'd be extremely angry at transferring to a Top 5 school, but I believe that this is probably one of of those "win-win" deals. His stats for 2025 are WAY down there and we signed 2 4-star CBs, a 3-star CBs and picked up 2 transfer CBs. It's likely in both of our interests for him to move on.
Exactly. That's why I don't get in a twist over these roster moves, anymore. Lol. They're expected, now. Every now and then, one'll surprise me...but, not often. Kirby's been pretty good with his character analysis, so far.
Imo....I don't see that tailing off, much. But, it's bound to get messy, sooner or later. Lol....Watching CFB & MLB is like watching a dragon eat itself from the tail. Or, trying to eat a soup sandwich. Lmao....or a primate fornicate a football.
Go Dawgs....keep on keepin' on, Kirby!!!
it would mean less bonus money for the OC and DC if KS spent money to get top players

This one is like losing a 5-star recruit, folks. Not good. Not good at all. Just another point on the graph of a negative slope.
This is absolutely embarrassing. How many kids from the south are gonna go up to the buttguys? These guys need to be ridiculed relentlessly.
