Rauscher will have this line popping. If Gaston wants to start he had better be working his a$$ off. He is too heavy, and needs footwork training if he wants to be a tackle. Otherwise a guard position would be better suited for him. The two backup centers had better follow suit because Bobo may or may not be ready right away. Kirby stood there and watched the Dawgs not be able to score a touchdown from the four yard line, first and goal just like everyone else did against Golden's defense. It will get fixed.

"Add in the loss of Monroe Freeling to the NFL and a case could be made that Georgia should’ve added a proven offensive tackle via the portal. But doing so would’ve been expensive and could’ve alienated players such as Juan Gaston and Ekene Ogboko."

Give me a frick'en break! These guys are pros now and need to get over themselves. I don't see other teams with this worry. If Kirby has the money and the need, then go after them!!

As long as Kirby thinks he filled the gaps as well as he could then I'm pretty much fine with the rankings. The proof will be on the field. I definitely agree that an older, more experienced roster will make us better overall. Experience and intangibles win over talent these days and going forward. I do worry about injuries piling up, especially on the LOS. We always seem to lose key guys on the line. Harris was a key missing piece against the Rebels.

Our schedule is manageable next season, so we could conceivably go undefeated. We're not playing a single team that should be better than the Dawgs. Just gotta execute.

Transfer portal rankings are absolutely meaningless. Schools that hire/fire a coach are going to be ranked higher simply due to the mass number of players coming/going. I think the average transfer player ranking that Connor mentions is way more meaningful. I'm still surprised we didn't bring in an O-lineman or two. But, maybe it was a coaching issue more than a personnel issue and Rauscher will have this unit deeper & ready?

Thank you. You are spot on. All these folks just view UGA with rose-colored glasses and think that if Kirby Smart says we're great, then we are. Then, we lose to Ole Miss in the Sugar Bowl, and they clamor for changes. We should be getting the best guys available from the portal. And we did not. Kirby believes in the guys he recruited. That is fine. But you can't convince me that Cam Coleman isn't better than ANY wide receiver currently on UGA's roster. And if there is another offensive tackle out there who's good, expensive or not, bring him in. Hell, Kirby Smart is EXPENSIVE, yet we have no problem paying him. We always bring in transfers. But year in and year out, most of our transfers (obviously there are some notable exceptions) are underwhelming. I fear that will be the true again this coming season. I doubt that any of the transfers will even start and a couple likely won't see the field at all. I don't care about down votes. We'll see next year when we're running around celebrating our third consecutive SEC championship and thinking "this is the year," then watching glumly while we get narrowly beaten by a lower seed in our first-round playoff game because none of our 4- and 5-star receivers could get open, and our offensive line kept getting whipped off the ball. And folks in the South will be asking, "how did Indiana get back there?"

Bo Hughley is the one that still bugs me. My only consolation is that maybe Bo's "slipping away" got Searles fired. I can't blame Bo - not because of money, but because despite his good performance at RT, he always seemed like Searles' last choice. Hell, he put Uini in at RT before he went with Bo. Uini was a disaster. Gaston is a guard, not a tackle. Searles screwed it up.

    from the article -

“He’s putting his body on the line. He’s taking crazy hits pretty much every game, and he’s getting up because he loves the team,” Zachariah Branch said of Stockton after Georgia’s loss to Ole Miss.

I appreciate Branch's feelings about Gunner, and I love Gunner's willingness to sell out, and that he has been loyal to program, etc., etc. Having said that, Gunner has got to be able to hit vertical routes - skinny post, back shoulder fades, etc. thrown 15 to 30 yards down the field. When other teams sit on the wide receiver screens, we have to be able to fake that and go over their heads, and I am not talking about the very low percentage, often underthrown, 40 yard heaves that we often see into double coverage. That kind of throw has got to be thrown deep enough that receiver only can get to it, and Gunners deep ball stays in air to long and allows safety time to get over and double the receiver. Gunner also needs to get that ball out of his hand more quickly. I focused on Mendoza during CFP final and on many throws that ball was out in 2 seconds from the time he caught the snap. He caught the snap and threw it on time to the spot receiver would finish in, not where he was when ball was released.

If he can't make those throws consistently, then we need to give one of the other guys a shot. I hope there will be a "real competition" at that position in spring and fall, and that Bobo will be truly objective in deciding who gives us best chance to 1) be explosive and 2) win games and go deeper into playoffs. The days of winning back to back national titles are over, but hope we can consistently go deeper into playoffs.

A pretty good group of transfers UGA signed. But i still would've like to seen the DAWGS pull a couple of experiend Offensive Lineman from the portal to keep the running game at or above the level they performed at this past season..GoDAWGS!

I’m with you on that and fully agree. Maybe the new O Line Coach can figure away to maximize what players we have and minimize any weaknesses. He’s young and probably full of zeal and eager to prove himself. Coupled with his NFL knowledge maybe the players will fully buy in and we’ll see significant improvement. I’m on board till I see Consistent negative to make me change.

Each new season brings with it its own unique Opportunities and Yes Challenges as well. All I ask from our Dawgs that’s Coaches and Players is their Very Best effort. Do that and see how far it takes them.
Control to the best of their ability the things they Can control and don’t sweat the things they can’t. Go Dawgs !!

Times are changing and we need to do a better job changing with them. Kirby is excellent but Cignetti has surpassed him, my humble opinion. His players are employing more innovative techniques leading to convincing wins against the best competition they faced this past season. The torch has passed, can we re-gain our former greatness? I have my doubts but anything is possible

I have to agree with BigFan that Hughley’s decision to hit the portal is quite worrisome. As well as he played in the limited times he was used in a game, you would have thought that he was going to have a great chance to possibly start next season as there was virtually no chance that BOTH Freeling and Greene would come back. Guess it could have been money, certainly not a shock in today’s college football, or could have been coaching decisions. Anyway, I wish him well and am looking forward to see what our new O line coach can do with the quality folks we have left.

Said it last summer and saying it again. The '26 team will go as far as the QB takes it. IF GS does not improve in all those areas you mentioned, expect similar results to '25.
