Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:

- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)

- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans

- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum

- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Media mishaps, oddities, dislikes

There are so many things in today's media that drive me nuts. Felt like I'd share & see what my brother Dawgs thought. Only 1 for today:

If you watch most any news or morning news/lifestyle shows, the "Today" show being our primary, you'll notice that when the "anchor" flips to a "reporter", they always say the reporter's name followed by "thanks". For example, story on Today this AM about the economy. Savannah Guthries flips to Christine Romans for report on "Inflation" as example.

So when Savannah goes to Christine, Christine responds: "Savannah, thanks". Then, when Christine flips back, Savannah says, "Christine, thanks". They always say the person's name first, followed by thanks.

What about, "Thanks Christine", "thanks Savannah", etc. And this is just an example. They all do it & it's not just "Today". I see/hear it on nearly every "news" broadcast & network, even on local news (which is laughably bad).

My guess is some "media consultant" at some point cited research or something, made the recommendation talk like a doofus & now they all do it. Sorry to share this as it will make you now notice what likely never crossed your mind. I hope you don't become obsessed like me, then become angry like me, then do something like posting this content as you've held this great trauma inside for so long. (Not only morning shows, check any news type show any time of day & you'll notice.)

Dawgnation Brothers, Sisters, Staff, Conur, "Thanks".
