Media mishaps, oddities, dislikes
There are so many things in today's media that drive me nuts. Felt like I'd share & see what my brother Dawgs thought. Only 1 for today:
If you watch most any news or morning news/lifestyle shows, the "Today" show being our primary, you'll notice that when the "anchor" flips to a "reporter", they always say the reporter's name followed by "thanks". For example, story on Today this AM about the economy. Savannah Guthries flips to Christine Romans for report on "Inflation" as example.
So when Savannah goes to Christine, Christine responds: "Savannah, thanks". Then, when Christine flips back, Savannah says, "Christine, thanks". They always say the person's name first, followed by thanks.
What about, "Thanks Christine", "thanks Savannah", etc. And this is just an example. They all do it & it's not just "Today". I see/hear it on nearly every "news" broadcast & network, even on local news (which is laughably bad).
My guess is some "media consultant" at some point cited research or something, made the recommendation talk like a doofus & now they all do it. Sorry to share this as it will make you now notice what likely never crossed your mind. I hope you don't become obsessed like me, then become angry like me, then do something like posting this content as you've held this great trauma inside for so long. (Not only morning shows, check any news type show any time of day & you'll notice.)
Dawgnation Brothers, Sisters, Staff, Conur, "Thanks".

I admire your bravery for watching that/those shows.
NBC hahhahahaaaaaaahhhhhhaaaaa much less the Today Show that still on….bet you watch The View.
That's way out of line. I have a wife, hence Today show - I really don't give a ****. Maybe you prefer other than a wife?
Just makin fun of what YOU watch said nothing about your wife d00d…..chill out….
Nope. The only NBC show I watch is Chicago, PD. And Sunday night football.
What's "NBC?" What's a "morning show?" What's "The View?"
Maybe there's a museum about dinosaur media?
Go, Dawgs!
I'm just annoyed by how many years the same Cheez-It commercial has been running.
Maybe Savannah has ADD…
The commercial where the fans talk to the QB in the TV screen and encourage him to pass the ball. Reminds me of some Dawg fans on this board who seem to think the players/coaches really read/hear from them.
Hey dawgnms, my bad. Had to go w/o coffee yesterday am & was a little defensive. Best to you, and by the way I'd probably make fun of somebody for watching NBC/Today too! Go Dawgs! The View comment was a great dig, shook me to the core.😂
I'd take a boring guy (or girl) just reading the news for 30 minutes any day. Reminds me of the original "remote control". That was my Dad telling me to get up & change channel from Cronkite to ?? , some other network, can't remember anchor's names.
Yeah - thinks that most are "entertainment" these dayz and are classified as such.
Guess they have to pay the bills too, 24-7 makes for a BIG "light bill". But they have it all figured out…division. Just throw as much on the wall as you can to see what sticks. Me, try to stay with the 30-minute stuff at the end of the day & filter it all…but at the end of the day, they know the majority will fall for it.
I guess you will always still have it, someone else trying to tell you how to think…"same as it ever was' - been that way since before time. Can't even read about sports anymore, they have ALL "jumped the shark".
Hope you got your coffee today - you just can't go around offending folks.
All good 😎
Yeah full caffeine! Thanks for the laughs.
