Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Georgia weighing whether or not to add sponsor logos to uniforms
âVery proud of what we were able to do last year in getting a great company like Delta on the field,â Brooks said. I think the partnership there with [Delta CEO] Ed Bastian and that whole team, that makes so much sense. So weâll look at it.â

Just when I think they couldn't ruin the sport I once loved any more, they dig deep and come up with a new low. Go Delta Dawgs!
How long before they remove the logo from the helmet? Hope the money is worth it because I'm checking out more by the year.
"We’re not just out here chasing dollars just for the sake of chasing dollars. We want to do it the right way.”…..All righty then, just make sure the ONLY companies The Dawgs do business with are Georgia Companies….. The Home Depot, The Coca-Cola Company, UPS, Delta Air Lines, Aflac, AGCO, NCR Corporation, Georgia-Pacific, Perdue Farms, Frito-Lay, Gulfstream, Lockheed Martin……
PUKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I already cringe everytime I see the Delata logo on Dooley Field.
It is just a matter of time before Team uniforms copy the NASCAR Model.
PUKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Frito Lay is based in Texas. Coca-Cola makes so much sense.
H-E-L-L let’s just go the way of NASCAR and get it over with. Let’s just put little logos all over our jerseys and maybe a pretty pink Pepto Bismol one on the seat of the pants! What is happening to the game we all grew up loving? Yeah, I’m an old f-a-r-t! Go Dawgs!
The brand is Georgia!
Period.
Adding anything dilutes the brand.
Go, Delta Dawgs! All of college sports has become a red light district for anybody with money. Why not start selling condoms with the G at the concession stands during the games.
Coca-Cola has been an Atlanta-based company for over a century. Their roots have never been anywhere else. My uncle knew founder Asa Candler's son Howard, and bought his home on Lullwater Rd near Emory back many decades ago. Howard then built and moved to his Callanwolde home and property (now called The Callanwolde Fine Arts Center). That's where he kept many African animals that he had brought over including elephants and giraffes. Howard was a bit of an eccentric!
Delta was a logical and good choice.
I used to work for NCR Corporation when their Atlanta office was on Druid Hills Rd near 85. But their Worldwide HQ was always in Dayton, OH and only in the last 15 years moved to Atlanta. They have no deep roots in Georgia.
It would be nice to see a large Athens-based company as a logo.
There's no doubt the big Texas schools and many of the B1G schools have deeper corporate pockets and a bigger donor alumni base. They will bring in more money than we will be able to procure through most means. Any way to help feed the Georgia coffers is fine by me if it's done the right way.
What used to be college football has changed so much that it is hardly recognizable, it's all about money, TV and a giant void in leadership or a governing body over the total package. The cost of support for the average fan is quickly becoming out of reach and with the conveinence of all games on TV, the younger as well as the older generations are electing to stay home. and eventually, season ticket buyers will diminsh. I know a lot of lifetime , hard-core dawg fans who are season ticket holders like myself and there are many conversations about not renewing their tickets. Corporate logos and advertising will not hold ticket prices and Hartman Fund demands down for fans. Too bad they can't follow the no corporate signage like the Masters and Augusta National, the last bastian of purity in sports.
ready for the walkons/scholarship players. Let the pros start their own minor league or feeder teams…but pretty dang sure that the pros do not want any of that….start your own league, everybody else can go play with themselves.
In reality we can't keep up with the Texas types in the world of college football and NIL without bowing to the almighty dollar and what it brings to the table. I agree with everyone—if we have to do it—Let's do it with corporate and business interests that have very longstanding ties to the state of Georgia.
I am an old dude and had season tickets for 28 years. I 100% agree with you on this! If we act too high and mighty and not play the money game we get left behind. We are already at a big disadvantage not having a mega-donor, so lets not make it worse. Love my Dawgs and want to compete at the top!!
@MontanaDawg Spot-on post and a cool set of ideas for sponsorship. Play the $$ game or get left (way) behind!!
Im in the boat with ya lol college football is on an out of control downward spiral..
Whatever way they decide to go with sponsorship it will never be as bad as Hyundai Field . Of all the companies in Atlanta they chose this . What a slap .
