I thought the awards show in general was was pretty decent last night. THey obviously went with a comedic approach for entertainment between awards. Sort of an old shool roast of some of the players and organizations in the audience. I don't know how the players took it but by-in-large I was reminded of the Old DeanMartin roasts back in the day with Don Rickles where nothing was off the table. You could tell with the youngsters they didn't know what the mess was going on. THere were many nervous smiles, like "is this OK to laugh at", "will I be roasted in the court of public opinion if I do?" You could see it in their eyes. Shame we live in such a politically correct world.

Awesome that Stafford finally won this award. He’s so underrated and under appreciated because he spent so many years with the losing lions. Hopefully he can win back to back MVPs next season along with next season’s Super Bowl. Go Dawgs!

What a great honour for Matthew! Extremely glad he will be coming back next year. To be the man he is and be a fellow alumnus of the University of Georgia makes me very proud—bravo for you, Matthew.

Well deserved and congratulations Matthew ! Don’t see many quarterbacks his age play the game hard and not shy away from being hit . He’s definitely taken some hits over the years. A man’s man and a Dawg’s Dawg .

With the vote being THAT close....How do you NOT include Drake Mayes' stats as a comparison?

Wouldn't you want to know the stat differential, if we're gonna compare vote differentials?. Just sayin'....seems very relevant to the story, to me. Maybe yall need a sports editor. Lol

Go get em Big Red. Bennett will be the 4th recipient before this decade is over...imo.

I wouldn't have given you 2 cents for Stafford's chances of winning it, 15 years ago....or, even 10 years ago.......so, I guess I will speculate on the guy I think will light it up, when he gets HIS chance.

I'm stickin with The Mailman, till it doesn't make sense. Right now, I think he's got the best chance of all of his peers....

Because......he built his foundation the right way through grit and sweat, under Kirby Smart and Todd Monkin.

And......he's playing for a perennial playoff contender with plenty of resources and a great staff.

While......he's being tutored by the Best coaching, available....under McVey and Staffo rd.

NFL MVP is a Marathon....not a sprint. You can't luck your way, into that award.

Imo....Of all the quarterbacks....Bennett is one of about 4 or 5, that I would give a pretty good chance of winning multiple MVP Awards over the course of his career.

    Down vote alert……

I’m sorry but, no way Bennett gets anywhere near MVP status and it’s doubtful he’ll ever start for anyone.
A good college quarterback whose skills didn’t match up at the pro level. I’d take Aaron Murray over Bennett at the college level every day of the week but, as great as he was, he just didn’t make it in the pros.

No, I never was a fan of Bennett. I thought his story was a great one and how he fought his way through but he struck me as becoming pompous, threatening to transfer if he didn’t get his way (after already transferring once), showed up drunk for an interview and I did not like it.

I am very appreciative of what he did for the University of Georgia and do not deny his college level skills but he is not a starter in the pros. That may change and, if it does, good for him, but I just didn’t care for him in his later college years.
And thinking he is third string on the verge of being cut simply because he is mis-evaluated at the pro level is just nonsense.

Dang....I wish I had a dollar for everytime I heard...

"We can't win a Natty with Bennett under center".

    Or...

"Bennett will never start for a DIV1 CFB Program like UGA"

    Or....

    "Bennett won't get a scholarship"

    Or...

"There's no way Bennett gets drafted above the 6th Round"

Lolol....people keep doubting the boy...and, he keeps breakin' it off in their ass.

Who knows....maybe you're right. Maybe he gets injured before he ever gets his shot....or he gets traded to a team, like Cleveland, Lol. There's a lot of luck and serendipity involved with being a successful NFL QB.
