Ouch - that will leave a mark
Headline of this article tells you everything you need to know about UGA basketball in 2026. UGA players not good enough to compete with even a mid major. Blame the coach? Really? UGA "defenders" gave up 30(!) points in the paint in the 1st 10 mins of the game. St L scored so easily in the paint I would've been tempted to go zone. Certainly their shooting % would be less shooting from 20' than from shooting from 1'?
Playing defense in basketball is about the will to defend the player you are guarding and the hustle to back it up. UGA players had no will to defend. In fact, they looked so bad on D and O that I started to wonder if payola was involved. They looked disinterested in competing. That ain't on the coach. That is a complete lack of heart, brains and talent.
I said it early in the year and it showed on TH when UGA got behind and UGA's G's could not get the O going. UGA has 1 SEC/D1 level guard. That's Wilkinson. And he's 6'1".
Those young frontcourt players hopefully learned a lesson that just showing up w/o intensity and commitment to fundamentals will get you embarrassed.
This is what happens when all the NIL money and all the facilities money goes to one place (football).
Yup it did. Richt never had the horses to compete w/AL. What's CKS's record vs AL?
At least DawgNation wrote about the game. Their inexplicable/inexcusable refusal to cover the UGA men's basketball program for a significant chunk of the season was almost as pathetic as last night's "effort" vs the mighty Billikens.
Please fire that clown!
