There are enough of us Dawg fans here who follow the Braves that we should have a thread for the season.
I think this has been done in years past too correct? Hopefully the mods are ok with a little baseball talk over here. Gonna be a lot of fan crossover between Dawgs and Braves.
2-0 start not bad. Probably should've lost last night but the game got away from the Royals closer.
Been impressed with the defense. Dubon can really pick it at SS. Gold Glover. Riley really looks like he is hungry to have a big year. Olson too. Yaz is a solid player got a bunt hit last night. This team is gonna hit.
Starting pitching still a concern but if you get a good game out of Holmes today that is 3 for 3 quality starts. Keeping in mind the SP situation should improve as guys return later. Bullpen looks solid.
Add all that up and the fact you have fresh blood at manager with Weiss and it could be a really good year. Love Snit but he was too old school. We needed a new manager. Fresh approach things had gotten stale.
Most Braves fans know this but if you dont Weiss is a legit bad azz. As in a legit MMA trained guy. Braves get in a brawl this year you wont see anyone looking up Walt.

Last year was terrible, lame duck ****. Looks like a lot more energy and focus, to start. The GS was very cool, another characteristic missing last year, they just weren't cool. Let's GO BRAVOS!
In reference to donniem Braves getting training in recognizing the strike zone, it appears Braves have work to do, 0 for 4 in in challenges I believe in first 2 games.
When you burn all your challenges in the first 4 batters and have none for the rest of the game….its time to rethink your strategy.
did seem odd to use them so early.
Elder pitching tonight. Uggh.
Hopefully he can continue the good run he had to end last year. Likely will need the offense to get going to win this one.
he's like 50-50 in my mind. When he's on, he's pretty good. When he's off, not so much. Seems off more than on. Maybe the light bulb goes on for him this season.
Right on cue Elder getting it done tonight. Good for him maybe he is building some confidence.
With all the arms out for the Braves this will get him a few more starts at least.
Shows you how funny a game Baseball can be. Braves are worried about starting pitching and thru 3.5 games they probably have the best ERA in the NL.
Sigh, if it were only a 4 game season. Elder was on for sure last night. Fingers crossed for more.
is it too early to discuss the magic number
just a tad early but as Maverick said to Charlie, "so far it's looking pretty good".
LOL. It is. But they won today so whatever it is it just got smaller.
BTW I didnt start this thread to steal @ghostofuga1 thunder. Looks like he usually started this in the past. Just wanted to get one spot where we could talk a little Braves baseball.
4-2 to start the season far cry from the 0-7 start last year. Let's see if they can keep a good thing going in Arizona. Looks like they will face former Brave Mike Soroka on Saturday.

what magic did you use to come up with that number?
