Why do they always self destruct a few days before the draft? If there was ever a time to sit still and be quiet, it would be the time leading up to draft day. All that work, all that sweat, all that breaks that have gone your way, and in the end you show a character flaw to the draft teams, which they will use to get the least price possible for your services. Is it dumb luck or final comeuppance? Perhaps he was innocent as a little lamb... but that seems improbable, as it will to the NFL teams. Fair or not, you make your money through the eye of the public, and everything has a cost. If you learn from it, perhaps you can instruct others.

Why did you feel compelled to write a long post with a strong opinion without knowing what happened? Go read the police report. It was out yesterday

  • jdatl3jdatl3 Posts: 899 ✭✭✭✭✭ Graduate

You missed the point. Read the report. If a cop asks you, why not do it? Is it ok to block people's path? Is this what model citizens do? Irregardless, in the interest of not having a problem that could cost you money, why not do whats asked. Was that the hill you wanted to die on?

Blocking the side walk? He’s 5’10” and 180lbs. You show me how he blocks a side walk. And he did move, just not far enough to please the cops’s ego. If you think the arrest was warranted, man wouldn’t I like to have you as a neighbor.

As I see it……way more much ado about nothing…..attitude vs ego…..settlement reached, charges dropped and Zach, hopefully has learned that attitude always comes with a price tag……best wishes in the Draft.

If people would just do what a police officer tells them, there would be a lot fewer problems.

jdatl3.....thinks you should be arrested for standing on a sidewalk watching a bicycle race on the street, displaying attitude you don't like, no verbal confrontation, a person doesn't move far enough and these all break NO LAWS ON THE BOOKS.

JUST A ROGUE OFFICER DEMONSTRATING EGO AND TESTOSTERONE.

Yeah just jump off of a bridge when an irrational request to do so is given.

    They have the power

  • jdatl3jdatl3 Posts: 899 ✭✭✭✭✭ Graduate

No one is asking anyone to jump off a bridge. Just move from blocking a sidewalk. Have we become such homers for our team that we can't expect a little decorum in public? Are all cops the devil and should be treated with contempt at every request? Sad

Yeah it raises questions. About.…what Country do we live in? Are there 2 sides to every story. Are laws gonna be equally applied across our great Nation.…or, are we gonna let the Barney Fife's rule the world?

Lol.…Clark County Servants....[and beyond]....can, and should do better. Cause, like Kirby says...."Better Never Rests". That's not just a "Football slogan".

The Clark County-to-UGA fatal attraction, has already been well established, though. And, Branch only had 1 year to confront it and figure it out. It was only a $39 lesson. .

Probably his last one in Athens, too. And, I wouldn't blame him. Just sayin'....it could wind up costing Clark County...and, Georgia...in the long run. ALL...for 39 Dollars. Not smart.

Actually, I'm starting to think this is some kind of hazing ritual or setup perpetrated against Top Rated outgoing UGA athletes.

Things that make ya go...hmmm. Lol…a $39 fine, for standing in a two square foot area of "public" sidewalk, longer than allowed???

How long IS that, exactly? And, is it written and displayed anywhere within eyeshot of Mr. Branch, at the time?

Could THIS be considered a "Peaceful Protest" by Branch? Civil Disobience is a long respected form of Peaceful Protest. Rosa Parks was famous for it ..with the Transit System, in Montgomery, Al..

There's some "questions" for ya. Lol

If I were a UGA Student....I'd march downtown and "stand on the sidewalk". Call it a "Stand In". Lol

These guys are all about the money. Don't make it sound like the culture in one college town tips the scales over a different university.

Honestly….I wouldn't know. Never saw an "investigative Reporter" do a story on it....or confirm there's no story to tell. Lol.…I'm Done, with the Honor System. I'd like to see a little more oversight and checking of these little abuses of power...."in the name of money".

IMO...Our laws should not be used to generate revenue. I don't care how poor you are.

But....ya gotta be pretty dang poor....and void of brain-cells, to make an enemy out of a future gazillionaire, over a $39 fine.

I'm just saying....How much revenue do you think he could've potentially generated for Athens & UGA....over the course of his lifetime. Had they NOT arrested him for being Human.

39 Dollars vs $$$$$ future revenue. I think Athens cashed in cheap. Guess time will tell. Lol
