If he has any NIL deals, he will be fined (compensation wise) and run some stadiums and then be an important depth piece….. let's just move on.
I love all the keyboard coaches, lawyers, medical experts, pot-smoking experts, judges, etc. on this article thread. I remain fully confident that Kirby has far more facts, historical and current, than the rest of us combined, and will use them to do the right thing. As he always has. I have from time to time questioned Kirby's play calling, time management, or other typical fan frustrations… but never his character. Go Dawgs.
@khummel - I hear ya. I’m also, like you, pretty sure Kirby will handle the situation correctly once ALL the facts are known. IF this young man is actually guilty of two felonies, I assume we also agree on what Kirby will and should do. That’s seems obvious to me.
I assume the “student” athletes are on semester break, but Coach Smart should give this young man a ring to confirm the facts - which seem pretty clear - and then “COMMUNICATE” to Riddle that he need not return after the break. Just ask him where he wants his personal belongings delivered to, let him know that his NIL direct deposit has been canceled, and that he should contact the “office” to arrange a repayment plan for any monies he may have already received.
Enough is enough. Draw a line in the sand, and get rid of all of them that cross it.

It would not seem so with 34 UGA football arrests since '23. Imagine how many arreats UGA would have had had CKS not always done the right thing....
Unlike you, I don't pretend to be an authority on everything, including who has been arrested at Georgia, when, or how Kirby responded… but I'm guessing upwards of 90% of the hundreds of kids in the program the last several years have had no run-ins with the law. I'm also guessing that among those who have, at least some of those circumstances were pretty dubious. And I do know when a red line has been crossed (e.g., violent offenses), Kirby booted them off team. Kirby isn't just a football coach, he's also part parent and part life coach. As well as simultaneously prosecutor, defense, and judge. Like everyone (except maybe you), he's not perfect; but I think he's pretty darned good at all of those roles, and far better than most. So forgive me if I'm inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt. Go Dawgs!
