The big surprise this year for opposing teams is the guys on the DL you are not talking about who are going to really make the difference for us. Hall, Ogboko, Nasir Johnson. These 3 at Nose will be what turns this into the top defense in the country. Notre Dame's schedule is easy so statistically they may be better but these guys will be better by end of year by being forged in the fire of the SEC.
We've got studs all in the LB group, and the DL should be as solid as an iron fence. If we can't develop a decent and consistent pass rush along with containing the edge this season then something is terribly wrong…and that may point to Schumann and his staff.
Notre Dame lost to Miami and gave up 41 points in a loss to A&M, and all of the other ten teams on their 2025 schedule were trash. No comparison. The media is full of idiots who do not know football, but instead are really put in these positions to be cheerleaders for these yankee teams.
Gotta find someone on defense to consistently set an edge and a backend that doesn’t neglect fundamentals (i.e., NOT playing press-man without a deep safety & allowing a DB to get toasted by a TE with 45 seconds remaining in the biggest game of the year)
