“So definitely it was tough watching out there, and not doing anything in practice, not doing anything on Sundays, not doing anything. W,e love to compete, so yeah it has been a test of patience and a test of willpower.”_____Stetson Bennett
There is no bigger motivator for a guy that knows he's ready. He wouldn't be a "Ballplayer", if he felt any other way.
Sounds like maybe he's picked up some valuable coping tools while he's been out there, in LA. He sounds focused and ready.....but, patient.
Good luck Stet.…stay healthy, above all else. Still early, yet.
I’m pulling for him to out play and outshine that overrated qb they drafted in April.
I'll be watching. Go SBIV.
Stetson's story reminds me a lot of the old story book "The little engine that could"..climbing that mountain, its "i think i can, i think i can". After reaching the peak, and starting down the mountain, it changes to " I thought I could, I thought I could". A lot would agree that we already knew he could..
If the same Simpson shows up that bama had the last few games of last season, it wouldn't take much for Stetson to outplay him 😂
Just do your thing Stet.
In 2020, I went from questioning if Stetson could play well against the best teams to wishing he had more eligibility in 2022. This kid is a baller and I hope he takes over for Stafford one day.
I was really looking forward to seeing Stetson play. Hoping that he would get a lot of reps and a lot of time. Well, he didn't. He only got to play most of the first quarter and Simpson played the rest of the game. What a bunch of horse c%$p!!!
Lol...I agree. In fact, it might take a team of horses to create enough dung to heap on that set of series'. They barely got their feet wet, before Bennett was pulled.
Maybe....that was the plan. Use Bennett as an ice breaker, to settle the offense and get the engine warm....then put in your Rookie to see what he can do. And, I was pleasantly surprised. I'd keep an eye on Simpson.
IMO....McVay and Bennett have a big decision to make before the Season. And, it starts with either a new contract or an extension for Bennett. This is SB's final year. If they don't do something with his contract...before the Season...I think it's almost certain he's gonna be used as a bargaining chip the rest of the year. Maybe, get a lot of playing time, to juice up his value.
I know he probably feels like he owes McVay and the Rams' Organization. For the way they handled that first season and basically ran cover for him while he healed. With Class. Not many organizations operate that way. So, I expect nothing less wrt Bennett's future in LA.
Stay or Go....Either way...Bennett will land on his feet. Cause, that's what Winners do. McVay knows that, too. He knows what Bennett is and how rare they are. I don't think McVay wants to lose him....but, he may have to, due to the realities of the game and timing. This is gonna be an interesting Season. Lots of distractions that don't involve Taylor Swift,...I hope. Lol
Hell....he belongs in Atlanta, anyway. I think the only reason LA drafted Bennett in the first place....is, because they needed Southern representation on the West Coast. Darned near killed Bennett. Thought he'd never play again after seeing how they do, in California. Lolol
