ATHENS — For someone still looking to carve out a real role in the Georgia offense, wide receiver Sacovie White-Helton knows it’s a little odd for him to be one of the most experienced players at his position.

Needs them to grow up during this critical scrimmage? I’d settle for before or after, or anytime before the season opener but hey, let’s go for it. We need big things from this inexperienced group. 15 days to first tee on the ground! Lets go dawgs!
“We have a lot of inexperienced players and young players,” White-Helton said. “First, we need to get down the things like catching the ball and blocking downfield and assignments and alignments. We’re really good at that right now. Just keep stacking days and get better at those things.”
With the number of times this issue has been emphasized in article after article on this site, I like what we're hearing from SWH. If what he's been quoted as saying is actually happening with everyone in the room, I believe they will reach the level of production that this team needs. We just need to remind ourselves that no one wants to see completions and explosive plays more than the guys that make up the WR room, and they will find their way and develop more confidence with every catch.
GO DAWGS!
The first two games are basically scrimmages with much movement possible on certain positions before the Arky trip. I am glad that the Dawgs have this luxury.
WARNING !! Off Topic !! As expected and should be QBs, WRs, and TEs have been discussed at length on here. And that’s fine. But I’m also hoping for a powerful, ferocious, attacking Run Game !! That would open things up better for the pass attack.
I’m hoping Frazier and Bowens will have the best season of their careers. Not to exclude the topic of passing all together. I’m hoping Dwight “Peanut” Phillips will have a James Cook like presence catching the ball out of the backfield. Also hoping Walker and Lamar will be strong contributors.
YES the passing attack is vitally important. But we need a powerful run game to compliment the pass attack. Verses Ark. should give us a better glimpse of what these Dawgs are. Go Dawgs !!
I'm just going to say it: I have zero confidence in the UGA wide receivers to be CONSISENTLY explosive. Of course they (and the coaches) are saying all the right things. They do every year. And then they come out and are quite average during the year. That's how I see these guys. A lot of talk. A lot of potential. But by the end of the year, there won't be one guiy who truly strikes fear in the hearts of defensive secondaries (although they would be quite respectful in their public comments). That's not to say that we won't win or be a dangerous team. We have enough talent all over the field to assure a strong season. Just don't look for us to see that consistent proverbial "deep threat" that we so desperately want. Go Dawgs!
