ATHENS — For all the attention paid to Georgia’s wide receiver concerns during fall camp, it’s not the only area of worry for the Bulldogs this coming fall.

I sure hope this is Kirby spinning BS because without a big improvement, we are not going far in the playoff.
"It also doesn’t help that Georgia isn’t allowed to hit their quarterbacks during practice. That’s nothing new, but questions do still linger as to whether Georgia can consistently finish at the quarterback, rather than simply create pressure."
I doubt that (not hitting the QB during practice) has anything to do with it. The scouting report on the UGA defense for most of the CKS era has been "get rid of the ball quickly". The better QBs that UGA faces are able to adjust their instinctive clock to know that they don't have as much time as they normally do. I am convinced that our pass rush is going to be a game changer this year and I can't wait to see it!

A good blitz package will work. Get the safeties and corners more involved in the blitz package.
Absolutely! It’s very effective when done correctly and a lot of fun to watch.
Coverage sacks. Hopefully if our Secondary is as good as advertised we’ll see more sacks because the QB is caught looking for open receivers. Still like has been said I Love effective blitzes that involve bringing guys from the secondary more ! My ample gut tells me we’re gonna be much better this year ! I listen to my gut that’s why it’s so ample Lol !! 😂
Gotta have an effective system to get pressure and sacks. Plus, pressure and sacks are crucial. With good DBs we should be able to design blitz packages that work. IMO, it’s all about scheme and coaching. We obviously have talented players.
The Dawgs’ defense hasn’t been good getting “consistent” pressure on the QB for two out of the last three years. The 2021 team was 4th in the nation and 2022 was 37th. They were 59th in 2023 and 107th last year. Championship teams and championship defenses have to get consistent pressure on the opposing QB. Blitzes and stunts are great, but pressure in the QB’s face is the most important to affect the passing game and the Dawgs haven’t been good at that since Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis and Devonte Wyatt were playing in Athens. We have to hope some of these interior defensive linemen can show some pass rushing ability and more importantly get home on passing downs.
