It's a week before football season and this board seems strangely quiet. Is it the new board format? Everybody disgusted enough with where CFB is headed that we're checking out? Drinking & carousing? Other?
Answering your question using desktop site at top page is the discussions link or categories link try those out you can filter it by using the arrow next to all. Mine is set to recently commented. Mobile site use the 3 lines upper left corner to navigate as explained. Best I can do welcome ALL suggestions….
I don't understand what you're doing with this.
Here's what I get. I may not be doing what you've suggested, but it's what I've gotten by doing what I think you're suggesting. I don't see how it helps at all. My guess is I'm confused about what you're suggesting.
Thanks.
Go, Dawgs!
Looks exactly like my settings. You are more tech savvy then you think
Does anybody know the name of this discussion format? If so, perhaps we could look it up, find reviews of it, maybe tutorials, and determine whether anyone else using it has figured out how to crack the code and make it work. So far, in my opinion, it is a total loser. If we can't figure it out, I don't think I'll be sticking around.
And, I want to stick around. I like what we've had here over the years I've participated. It was interesting, informative, engaging, and fun.
The new platform is not fun! Why anyone decided to switch from the system we were using, a system which worked well for the fans using it, and was easy to use, informative, transparent, and intuitive, is beyond me. Perhaps the intent was to kill this discussion and kill Dawg Nation? Go, Dawgs!
Agree 💯 it's just such a downgrade.
If we all agree to only use the " to reply and never usr the "reply" it should at least function very close to the same as the old one did.
I do not like the limited number of discussions on each page nor the red on black background but I do like the way "Notifications" works to show which ones I have visited and those I need to visit. For some reason I have 2 that I can't find but know that any number higher 2 means I check them first.
Used to be I could very easily tell if there were new posts for me to look at. And, I could easily find them. Now, not so much. That's just one or two of the many problems with the new format. Why the downgrade? (If it ain't broke…)
I'm looking into other forums, but having trouble finding out much about them. I've long been a member of one other Dawg forum, but it has or had last time I used it, far too many posts to have anything like a conversation or discussion. Some have a very inexpensive trial offer. Some are free. Some aren't. If here are reviews of the various forums, I can't find them. I'd love to have this continue to be a forum worth my time and yours. Go, Dawgs!
I don't know about "never use" but I generally agree the " icon is generally a much better way to reply to a post. To me "Notifications" is confusing and somehow a lot less useful than the somewhat similar stuff on the previous platform. Exactly what the difference is I can't put my finger on.
If my Bell has a number higher than the unknown 2, I click on the Bell and then clicking on this post and any others that have a red dot next to them. Then when there are no red dots I go back to discussions and look for any "new" items that I wasn't notified about.
For some reason I have to click on "Discussions" twice to make the ones I've visited to clear the "new"s!
Above Works for me. Do I like the new format…no…Vanilla was never any good, used to give it away for free.…. Ya all do what ya gotta do
It was called Vanilla still is I think and has always been Junk even in the previous DN format…..
hit refresh clears it…….
It doesn't. I have opened notifications hit mark all read and the 2 goes away but when I hit Discussions again it reappears. Hitting 2 3 4 times it stays there. I even tried signing out after mark all read but the 2 returns as soon as I try to sign out and is still there when I sign in. I've just to learned to live with it!
Same! And it seems the main reason most are elsewhere is the new format. Also agree with some that it will be usual, good controlled chaos once games begin and we're in season.
Vanilla is plain and simple. Delicious by itself. This is not vanilla, about as close as mint chocolate chip. Not that it matters, but I'll check back in on game days.
