Georgia was without one of its top offseason transfers on Saturday after running back Dante Dowdell suffered serious injuries during an ATV accident this offseason.

Hope you get well soon. Wear a helmet or stay away from those ATV. We recently had a man killed in our community on one
“… spent two over two months in “ ?
Obvious typos aside, wishing Dante a full recovery.
Won't be long before NIL deals have stipulations like nfl contracts to protect their investment. Clauses such as no riding a motorcycle, ATV, hang gliding, etc. Anything that carries a high risk of injury will not be allowed by the athlete(s).
Praying for his full recovery. 🙏🏻
Sounds like more injuries than he’s reporting if he’s having to learn how to walk again.
"Relearning to walk". Football career may be over. Certainly for this season.
I agree David because there is no mention of spinal, hip or leg injuries. Also, 9 staples in the head shouldn’t be an issue at all unless there was brain damage. Seems like we aren’t being fed the full story. Good luck Dante and Go Dawgs!!!
Is he going to still receive the NIL money from his transfer contract? Since he was injured due to his own negligence, UGA should not need to pay the NIL. Understand that college football players much have a life, but common sense should tell an athlete not to be driving ATVs dangerously…. The team depended him to fill a need, and now that particular skill position is empty.
Probably insurance on all those contracts.
Having spent 6 weeks in traction, 2 months in the hospital and 12 months of rehab due to a motocross crash on my 19th birthday, young kids do dangerous stuff. I was fortunate to fully recover but certainly explains my aches and pains as an old dawg now. Wishing you a full recovery Dante. Hopefully in a couple of years we see you tearing it up on the football field once again.
Aw man !! Sorry to hear this about Dante !! I have a non-union collarbone break circa 1988. Went to a total quack surgeon ( unbeknown to me). My left arm has never been the same. Now at 69 yrs. old it hurts like crap and there’s Nothing they can do. I’ve been to three different surgeons and all three said I’d have to live with it.
I crashed a motorcycle. I’d been riding for many years including motocross. This was a Suzuki 1100. Crashed it at only 20 mph. Long story. Haven’t rode a motorcycle since. Sold the 1100 two weeks after the crash and hadn’t rode it in between. God was with me as it could have been much worse.
It’d be GREAT if Dante could come back to football. But at this point I just hope he has a normal life. Bad things happen to us that we don’t plan on. You can’t live a decent life in a plastic bubble. He could have been hit by some DUI person and ended up the same way. I imagine he feels sort of helpless right now. His world turned upside down. My sincere prayers for him. 🙏
