Georgia won its opening game 63-3, but the Bulldogs are the only team among the top 8 not to garner a No. 1 vote.

When you play a much weaker opponent, I don't think you can expect to get overwhemigly appreciation by poll voters. I don't get too carried away with in season polls but I was surprised that we rose to nr 2
Just a bunch of BS, but it may all come back to the revolving saying we have heard time and again for a few years now…it all started with Pollack's quote…"Georgia has a lot of very good players but not a lot of great".
Time to prove the naysayers wrong this season, eh?
As Lane Kiffin once said, "Shocker…"
Agree that the Dawgs played hard and smart, but remember that TSU is the patsie of patsies. So regardless of the lopsided score the voters factored in the opponent. If they are truly Matty contenders, the votes will come.
BtW Mike Griffon is crazy to contend LSU should be rated number one. Clemson has atrophied into patsie material themselves and seem to have a serious morale problem. Griffin is definitely not a Dawg fan. We do not meed coverage from Bostonians whose loyalties lie elsewhere.
These rankings are meaningless just keep winning
Does it really surprise anybody?. Lol....I think Kirby's was well aware of the Media Bias and Crooked Big10....when he accepted the UGA HC position.
That's why he built the Dawgs' house, out of Titanium....vice straw, twigs or bricks. These Dawgs are deep, well trained, connected....and above all...committed to the G...not the G's ($). The guys that remain on the UGA Team at the end of every year...aren't staying for the money. Their cause is much greater.
And, imo....Ya gotta admire that...and acknowledge it....even if the crooked ass media won't.
Go get em Big Red!!! Ain't no poll stopping' ya...now that they have to beat ya.
@MontanaDawg this is a team that can prove them wrong, but there’s no hurry to get to #1. If they play to their standard they will get there soon enough. You only have to lead the last lap!
GO DAWGS!
And, I think Pollack was dead wrong....unless his definition of "Great" differs from mine. I don't pay much attention to what those former players say.…once they've been **** up by the Entertainment and Media industry.
They lie for clicks. That's the bait. That's the game now...and we're ignorant enough to bite on the hook, everytime. Lol....what're ya gonna do?...It's football.
If you had voted for them they would have 1, Griff. Obviously LSU had 5 biased reporters, you'd think UGA could afford one.
And before vote down guy responds let me simply say

I live in Raleigh area. Nobody from Raleigh, NC, should be allowed to vote in any poll ranking college football teams. I mean “come on man”, dropping UGA lower on your ballot after a 63-3 win is obviously the result of anti-UGA bias. Then to drop UGA from his previous 5 to 9. Say WHAT??!! Correction, it’s either bias, ignorance, or stupidity. Maybe a combination of all three.
DDon't forget UTEP. Lol
Imo... @JBMDawg46 ....they've made themselves irrelevant. We now have to have a 24 Team? CFP....to mitigate the ignorance and bias.
It's settled on the field, now....as it should be. That's why Kirby said, "We practice to beat everybody". Cause that's what UGA has to do to garner it's merits.
Others, like Notre Dame, OSU, Michigan (tic), etc...are forced to accept positive press, whether they wanted it or earned it. Because their Alumni control the media, for the most part. Lol...Free Press!....right!
You got to go deep in the playoffs—regularly. We're missing the Lanning-Monken throw-weight. Should have fought to keep Muschamp—he's gonna make Texas a harder win.
A first round Bye is pretty deep in the playoffs if you ask me.
Not to mention 2 consecutive SEC Titles. You'd have to be deliberately obtuse to omit that from any critique. Just sayin'....let's be fair.
