Gunner Stockton's Heisman Trophy odds went up despite his near-flawless performance in UGA's 63-3 season-opening win.

I’m not inside his head but I imagine Gunner could care less about the Heisman. He’s a Team Guy. He wants the Dawgs as a Team to win. Gunner did very well last year and I believe he’ll do even better this year.
He has a very promising O Line in front of him, very talented and deep TE room and I believe the WRs as a whole are gonna end up better than predicted. On top of all that he has a very capable stable of RBs. If he plays a strong role in winning the Ntl. Title and I believe he will. He will be the unofficial Heisman winner in My eyes and the eyes of many regardless of what a bunch of sports writers and “experts” say.
Note Arch Manning was on the field longer and got more snaps than Gunner. So yeah I’d think he’d throw for more yards. He also threw an INT. He’s a Manning and there for he’s considered a golden boy. Let him win the Heisman but lose the Ntl. Title. If Gunner helps bring home the hardware he’ll be the true hero !! Go Dawgs !! Go Gunner !!
Does anyone care for an early season prediction from the likes of FanDual for Heisman? After week 1?
Me … Nope.
Perhaps had he gone 15 of 16 against a higher ranked team, the poll might be different but honestly I don't no why they even published such a list so early in the season.
Perfect. I'm certain the stats Gunner (and his equally talented teammates) cares about are Wins and (ultimately) ranking, both team being stats. I'd say they're right where they want to be. In other words, what's going on in NYC in December with Heisman awards pales by comparison to being in Nevada in January for the natty. Go Dawgs!
I'm also guessing those other young men who are far more likely to win the Heisman than Gunner would happily make that trade-off… Standing on the stage after the national championship game with their brothers versus standing on a stage in NYC by themselves. Go Dawgs!
Notice how they actually dropped him by seven spots from nine to sixteen. No respect. That’s all right I hope Gunner burns their little predictions !!
Well Mike, the needle was moved - down. While I’m not thinking Gunner will win the Heisman and am pretty sure it’s not a big deal to him personally, dropping 7 spots after going 15-16 and over 200 yards in about a quarter and a half indicates something is wrong with the system. Oh yes, the competition was very poor, but come on, he couldn’t do any better. His one incompletion was a drop. It’s seems like the question “what’s wrong with these people” becomes more appropriate every day. Thankfully this rigged Heisman voting process isn’t that important.
Hey Guys,
Last year at this time Arch Manning was the #1 choice and some unknown named Fernando Mendoza was at +6000 and basically not listed. AND, throw in the fact the quote “experts” picked Indiana to finish 32nd. Hmmmmm, how did that all work out? Go Dawgs and Go Gunner!!!
Fan Duel could care less who wins the Heisman. It is a betting site, so they're in it to make money, nothing else.
I agree and it should be noted that none of the 3 finalists for the 2025 Heisman were rated this time last year in the top 10. Love was the highest rated at #12, but Pavia and Mendoza weren’t even listed. Go Dawgs!!!
Any "prediction" list that doesn't start with Trinidad Chambliss and numero uno is to be ignored. That being said, glad the Stockton NYU Ed Smith Sr. trophy hype stock is dropping. Nothing better than to have a QB with a dissed on attitude leading your program to the natty, ain't that right Stetson.
Mike, stop this nonsense and do something actually productive
@JimmiesNJoes This is not a prediction list — it is the actual betting odds, which reflect how much money has been bet on each candidate.
@BubbaBill Great points, my guess is as long as UGA keeps winning, Gunner's odds will improve, in the sense of him moving up the list of favorites.
Imo…not, just Gunner. At the Season's end.....There's actually, a couple of other Dawgs, besides Stockton, that will be in the conversation.
I'm not gonna jinx it, by calling em out....but, I'm sure you know of whom I speak. Lol
