Great article, Mike! and what a great article by Connally! Thanks for including it!
That Rose Bowl victory still gives me chills! How wonderful was that week before the CFP championship game with Bama!
Didn't end well, of course……. still not over that play but, boy what a season that was!!!!
A real precursor for things to come! And just look at us now!
Go Dawgs!
Best game I ever watched… and to be frank, many times! 🤣
I read that article and it's one of the few times I actually agreed with Connelly. The rankings are debatable.... But, the games were great football.
I'd have to put that '17 Natty Loss vs Bama at the Top. UGA was new to the Party and Fans/media didn't know how Smart or the Team would handle it. One of the most intense football games I've ever seen...with multiple momentum changes.
Lol....Thank God I was 10 years younger, cause it might've given me a heart attack. After the Game…we all just looked at each other with exhaustion and despair.....and, went our separate ways. Couldn't even talk about it. Lmao
And, number two.…without a doubt, is the Win over OSU. But, Connelly,...being a BIG10 Man.…can't say that. Lol
Then...of course...the Rose Bowl vs Oklahoma.
"Ohio State missed a 50-yard field goal as the clock struck midnight, dramatically enough, signaling a new year in Atlanta."
This game was epic for at least a couple of good reasons. UGA bested a great team with one of, if not the, best QBs in the nation (CJ Stroud) who played what many thought to be his best game of the season. No players wearing red helmets were intimidated by his performance, including winning QB and MVP Stetson Bennett!
The final play of the game was indeed a missed field goal by OSU, but it was set up by a long run by CJ Stroud after dropping back to pass. If you watch that play on the highlights of that game, you will see Jalen Carter literally gets tackled as he was about to bury Stroud. It should've been a holding penalty, and the kick should have never been an option for OSU, but UGA got the win and ultimately the Natty!
GO DAWGS!

Exactly right my friend. Lots of holding every time UGA plays an Alabama or OSU. That's an advantage for them, regardless of whether it's "called the same for both teams"....when the Dawgs don't need to hold to play the game. They are trained like Champions.
Rules are there for a reason....And, it's bovine excrement to enforce them so loosely as to create an advantage for one team or the other. Enforce the rules as written....or change the rules.
Same thing can be said for " Handsy" DB's. Lol....'course they stopped letting Bama get away with that against UGA. I think Kirby might've had something to do with that correction.
