ALL props to the Georgia D which did it's job yesterday - a masterclass of a performance. With that said, I am concerned about the offense I saw. I was not a fan of the play calling. I was at first, thrilled to see plays where the passing was emphasized, we did have some success there. Gunner did a good job with 2 passes to Taylor. The second half was just a mess offensively - especially in the 3rd quarter when we got just 3 points. It was just sloppy, and just awkward. Gunnar had NO command of the offense and the OL forgot how to block. Thank God it was not a close game at that point, and luckily, the D did not take time off during the same period to allow the Sooners some life in the game. When we go to Tuscaloosa and play against what appears to be a pretty high powered offense, we cannot have our offense lose their way. Our WRs (other than Taylor), were not getting the separation from the corners as they should have - yes, I know the Sooners have a good defense, but we always hear from the Georgia offense that they practice weekly with the best defense in the nation - so they should have some answers for when the opponent is pressing in coverage. AGAIN, where are the throws to the TEs? Yes, there were a few - but why are we not putting 3 TEs out there at some point every series and throwing to them to get the defense to back off the line somewhat? We have am amazing TE room and I am convinced that Bobo has no idea of how to take advantage of that. If he had Brock Bowers on the team right now, I am SURE Bowers would not have the stats that he did under the previous OC. We need to figure things out quickly BAMA, Florida and Ole Miss are straight ahead, and we need to get the offense on the same level as the defense and play TRUE complimentary football.
Let's not get ahead of our skis.
Which good teams can Oklahoma beat? Anybody? Do they play Arkansas? Oops, I said which good teams can Oklahoma beat?
On any given Saturday, can Oklahoma beat Texas? Mississippi State? Florida? Ole Miss? I'm not sure Oklahoma can beat South Carolina. Yes, I love that we trounced them, but, hey, they're just Oklahoma. Go, Dawgs!
Georgia didn’t play a perfect game Saturday, but the Dawgs were more than enough for Oklahoma, making its first-ever visit to Athens. Click below to check out my latest Junkyard Blawg and read more about the game.

“inside a stripped-out Sanford Stadium”
Wow, something must have been wrong with the TV cameras because everyone in the stands looked fully clothed to me. Of course, I guess we did beat the pants off OK.
truthteller,
Bobo knew how to get the ball to Brock Bowers. Bobo was the OC in 2023, Brock's injury-plagued final season at UGA. Brock had more YPG in that season than in either or his years under Todd Monken.
Yep. I seem to recall complaints that the offense relied to heavily on him. Some are just impossible to please.
I just need our man press coverage to stop dropping 15-20 yards and allowing easy underneath passes!
Maybe the idea is to limit yards after the catch. That said, it doesn't mean our secondary is conceding the catch, but just favoring risk control. I'm rewatching the game which just showed KJ's interception. Not conceding the catch, not at all.
Personally I'd prefer to win every play and give our opponents zero yards running and zero yards passing except it would be less than zero yards of either. We'd sack the QB on every passing play and tackle the runner behind the line of scrimmage on every attempted run.
Go, Dawgs!
Dawgs did not play a perfect game for sure but Kirby definitely seems to have some real playmakers on both sides of the ball who had better be ready for Florida and the rest of the schedule.
I think the coaching staff is maxed out for this year, but maybe they can free up a spot for you next year. You're disappointed with a 43-13 win over Oklahoma and maybe the best defense we will see this year.
Yup Bobo had Bowers running a TE jet sweep against Vandy that got his ankle broken. A game that Bowers didn't need to play in for UGA to win. That was brilliant! Unnecessary risk play calling probably cost UGA a chance to 3 peat.Bowers carried Bobo not the other way around.
Ridiculous comment, in my opinion.
Anybody can get hurt on any play. Football players are not wimps or wussies. Especially not Brock Bowers. Brock Bowers opted in when he signed up to play for the Dawgs. He loved playing. He certainly didn't want to sit on the bench. On any given Saturday, Vanderbilt can beat anybody. It's more likely to happen when their opponent assumes an easy victory.
The coaches have a job to do. Play the players most likely to ensure a win. Go, Dawgs!
