Last year’s Dawgs defense played every bit as much a role in the playoff loss to OM as our offense. Case in point Gunner sacked Three times. Chambliss sacked Zero times. Even ever reliable Woodring missed a FG. But the OM kicker was 3 of 3 with very long kicks of 55 yds. and 57 yds. Dawgs lost by only 5 points. Still I Know a loss is a loss.
But the Dawgs Offense had the lead until mid third qtr. but regained it, then lost it again. It was a tug of war. The Real killer was the OM FG with only seconds left on the board to go up 37-34. Yes they got a Safety to add two points with only 6 seconds left when that happened. With only 6 seconds to work with it was Extremely improbable that the Dawgs would be able to come back. The Safety was a last gasp of desperation play. So how did that game Really come to a close for the Dawgs ? A TEAM Loss. It happens. To thd very best of teams. But to say the 2025 Dawgs were a failure is So Wrong in my view. And NO I’m not saying or asking any Dawgs fan to “settle” for anything. The Ntl. Title should Always be the goal. But Thirty Four points should have been sufficient. But it wasn’t.
But this is Not last year’s Defense. These are the guys that suffered that heart breaking loss. And better Believe they want redemption !! I Believe the Dawgs as a Team will get better every game played. It was said that OU had the best defense in the SEC if not the nation. But even removing the Great defensive plays mainly by Cole the Dawgs did in fact put up Offensive points against the supposed great OU defense.
Dawgs won 41-13 against an SEC team. We as fans should Enjoy that and Celebrate that. Kirby and his coaching staff will be working hard on the players to iron out problems. I get So weary of reading comments like If only we had such an such player. Or such and such coach. Well wanna know who’s ultimately responsible ? Kirby Smart. Should Dawgs fans lobby for him to be fired ? I certainly hope not !!! We have what we have because Kirby deems them to be here. Be it a player or a coach.
So if players and/or coaches on a Rival team make some Dawgs fans happy then maybe they should consider changing allegiances. No I don’t agree with CMB’s play calling allot of times. But he’s Our OC coach so I’m gonna support him and cheer for him. No Gunner Stockton is not the perfect QB. But he’s a darn good one, and an Even Better representative of UGA in terms of character and moral standards. He’s Our QB so I’m gonna support him and cheer for him.
Each to their own. If drooling over what another team has is your thing, Enjoy. But as a Dawgs fan I hope we curb stomp our Rivals one by one on the way to a Ntl. Title. It’s a sad day in my heart when Dawgs fans can’t Enjoy and Celebrate a 41-13 win over a rival SEC opponent. So go ahead down vote away. Doesn’t take any food off my table. And doesn’t diminish even a little my Love for the Dawgs !! And I didn’t even attend the university. Go Dawgs !! Sic ‘Em !!
P.S. Some ( a small minority I hope, just as the complainers seem to be a small minority. Hope that Curtis will transfer to UGA after the Brutal Snub he put on KS and UGA. Well to take him after what he did would be shades of Lane Kiffin to me !! He had an open and loving opportunity to come to UGA and in the last 24 hrs. threw it right back in KS, UGA, and Dawgs fans faces !! Let him bask in failure at Vandy as far as I’m concerned.
"Three straight years"... that include two SEC championships... all with defenses good, but not as good as this current one? And a team that leads the nation in points scored with winning margins of a minimum of 28 points, as was done against a pretty darn defense (including Stone and other who were indeed available) this past Saturday?

How much does Kamario Taylor **** to be asked a question during a season where your team, a habitual conference bottom dweller, is currently 4 - 0 and ranked (lower than they should be), about possible transfers and all he can come up with is “It’s really kind of hard because I’m in season and I don’t want to reply". He does follow up with the bleeding maroon and white comment but his "in season" answer should immediately be "I am a Bulldog. Period".
