Agree with Kudzu, let's not take for it for granted. Hopefully Frazier and Canion, and all on the report, can rest for this week's game and allow the injuries to heal further. Speaking of taking things for granted, we Dawg fans were once spoiled by the past running back riches. A 54 yd run was once something that was expected. Now, when I see a RB take off for a long run, I realize how much we've missed it, and watching Phillips take off against an elite defense was especially cathartic. Hopefully that is the beginning of a trend for this suddenly explosive version of the Dawgs.
I say sit them both! We may be a little flat after getting so up for Oki, but our depth talent level compared to Vandy should get a win. Don't care about the score or all this noise on Curtis. Just get the **** W!!

Even if we took away 14 points for turnovers to our Dawgs defense that’d make the score 27-13. Which would Still be a solid victory !!
Mateer made mistakes but Cole and our defense capitalized on those mistakes . And that’s the difference. Dawgs defense had him mentally rattled from the very start. Gunner and the Offense did pretty decent in the first half. Not great but pretty decent.
Looks like CMB was doing some experimenting in the 3rd. Qtr. With the commanding lead our Dawgs had by then it was a no harm no foul situation. Very proud of our Dawgs for a great victory over an SEC foe !! Just keep Choppin in practices and real games. All we can really ask for. Go Dawgs !!
Let both Frazier and Canion continue to rest and heal until they are 100%. Dawgs should be able to beat Vandy handily without them.
I don’t understand Kirby’s reluctance to discuss Frazier and Canion. He was the one who said they were “fine,” and that they could have gone back in against Arkansas. Clearly, that was not the case. No need to be all funky with the media because they’re doing their jobs by asking questions. I mean, we all want to know about their status. And I for one, saying they’re healthy, they need to play. This idea that we don’t need our top players to defeat certain SEC teams is the type of mentality that leads to complacency, which leads to upset losses.
I get the complacency argument, but let's not forget that Brock Bowers was injured vs Vanderbilt in Oct 2023, and that ultimately derailed the season when he still wasn't 100% for the SECCG. It's a long season with 9 SEC games and potentially a 10th. I'm fine seeing these guys rest when they can.
If I get more Taylin Taylor, Phillips, and Bowens, I am all good with that. Especially Taylor; he has now proven himself to be the downfield threat we all have wanted for years. Get him the ball early and often. Open up the run game and then take the top off the defense. I would also like to see more of Redell, Prothro, and Williams. Those three dudes are unstoppable with the ball in their hands.
Phillips has been regularly housing a one in scrimmages against our elite defensive unit. I personally have been expecting this earlier against TSU & WKU to be honest.
I don’t disagree, which is why I said “if they’re healthy,” they should play. But my larger point is this idea — really, it’s an attitude — that UGA can easily win games against certain teams even when we intentionally sit out top players. I totally get holding out injured players, but many UGA fans seem to think that because it’s (in this case) Vanderbilt, that we can win this game playing anyone with a “G” on the side of their helmet. And that’s how fans think. I just pray that attitude doesn’t bleed over to the players. Go Dawgs!
No sarcasm at you. But as a fan you’re supposed to have Faith and Confidence in your Team and program. The rival fans ain’t gonna do that for you. And I’d certainly Hope that any player with a G on his helmet that’s a Dawg would have confidence and faith that they Can be a winner.
You can respect a rival team Yet still believe you can beat them. It’s I believe only a small segment of our fans that this applies, but I’d love to see a decrease in admiration for other team’s players and coaches. And an increase in the same for our Dawgs.
In terms of players and coaches we have what we have. Cheer for them !! Believe in them !! Support them !! I absolutely No Doubts at all Believe the Dawgs Can and Will beat Vandy without having to play Frazier and Canion !! I Believe the rest of the team will rise to the challenge while their brothers are injured.
As a Fan I thought that was what I was Supposed to do. All my keyboard coaching and criticisms won’t impact Kirby Smart even microscopically. HE is the HC for a reason. If I don’t place faith and belief in him to guide the program it makes for a Very sad and frustrating season.
Yeah we Could lose any game but we Could Also win any game. I have Faith in our Dawgs going up against Any team in CFB !! Go Dawgs !!
Sometimes it's smart and wise to give players a bit longer to heal. This is in the service of having them in top form for times when we truly need them. Of course, they're college football players. As such they don't want to be laid up. They want to play football. In other words, there are a lot of factors going into the various decisions. I'm not sure we as fans know all the factors. We have to trust that our coaches are balancing the various needs and trying to make the best decisions possible for the individual players, the team, and the team's long term goals which are to win the SEC and win the National Championship.
This topic could be discussed endlessly, but I'm sure most of us get the point.
