At least he is honest from the get-go. Like I said weeks ago, we will ultimately see how truly important NIL dollars are in putting together a Championship team. It will probably play out over a few seasons before the results are in. But we've already seen some contradictions with how well some high-financed teams are doing vs. a bit lower financed team like Georgia. No matter what, you have got to have the coaching AND the team gel dynamic to make it through a long grind of a season. A season that will be even longer for playoff teams next season when we go to 16 or 24 teams. It's pretty much a done deal, just trying to settle on numbers.
Not sure if I agree with that take. It sounds to me like he will weigh the pay me now versus pay me in the league later. It doesn't sound like he has figured that out yet. I thought it was pretty honest comments.
If "a lot of schools check all those boxes" then it is purely down to NIL. Other than possibly Ohio State (who has placed 49 players in the NFL to Georgia's 58 over the past five years), I really don't see how that can be the case.
If in this recruit's mind, UGA is undifferentiated vs several other programs, then it does indeed come down to NIL. Most young people today will take money-in-hand now rather than put effort in for the prospect of supernormal money in (from their eyes) the distant future.
May be rational, maybe not... that's in the eyes of the recruit and their advisors.
Regardless, in this specific case, openly short-term mercenary and finding UGA otherwise undifferentiated? Probably worth planning on distributing those $s elsewhere…
The NIL talk gives me bad vibes. Do you want to be a Dawg or not. That’s the question, not can you pay me more than OSU or A&M. Admittedly, it wasn’t exactly clear HOW important the NIL money is, but it’s clearly a very important consideration for him. We should get clarity on that and move on if necessary.
When you hear them talk NIL up front, well…. you know the answer…. His nickname may be Big Dawg but he ain't going to be a Georgia DAWG…

I love the honesty. Really do. I hope the Dawgs offer a respectable NIL package to him. It shouldn’t need to be top of the market given all of the other benefits - unparalleled development, etc. He’ll make his real money on the second NFL contract after the Dawgs prepare him in college.
I say cut him loose. He's told us who he is. Now believe him and don't spend another minute recruiting him!
Kirby has said it many times—"if the reason you come here is NIL, then you're not what we're looking for". Good luck in your career.
