Georgia offensive coordinator Mike Bobo likes what he sees from the nation's top-scoring offense with Gunner Stockton hitting on big plays this season.

Bobo calls running plays and hears complaining fans. Bobo calls pass plays and hears complaining fans lol
So Well said!!!
Bob Dylan said that too!
"It ain't me, babe"
I hear that "we" stuff a lot on the talking heads shows…… "We all know this" and We all know that"
SMH!!!
Go Dawgs!
@BigDawg61 "this is only year 2 for him". Where did you go to school? GS is out of eligibility after this season. I guess those other 3 years on the team, practicing against a top CFB D, all the skull and game planning sessions , what, don't count? SMH.
"Initially committed to South Carolina, he flipped to Georgia in 2021.
Stockton took over as Georgia's starter in 2025, finishing seventh in Heisman voting with 2,894 passing yards, 24 touchdowns, and 462 rushing yards, earning SEC Championship MVP honors.
Known for quick release and touch on short and intermediate throws, he boasts accolades including CFP national champion (2022) and All-SEC Third Team (2025)."_____AI (Lol)
Here....let me he'p ya out, again....Lol. The bold part of the above clip, is the pertinent information regarding Stockton's experience running UGA's Offense. THIS...is year 2. The first 3 years are irrelevant to the conversation...imo.
Go Dawgs!!!
@BigDawg61 "The first 3 years are irrelevant to the conversation...imo" Maybe your limited conversation.
I would expect nothing more from you. I wonder if CKS considers 3 years of hard work and preparation in the UGA program as "irrelevant"? I am sure he would expect any player to be ready to play after less than 3 years in the program.
You have to admit that from a knowledge of the offense and from a recognition of the defense and where the secondary receivers are there are times (too many?) where GS looks like he IS in his 2nd year.
"THIS…..is year 2". SMH
There is a good chance of rain in Athens for the Vandy game so the passing game may be limited. Run the ball and do not turn it over, play defense. Boring but it is what it is.
If Coach Smart were Saban, we would have Faulkner and Muschamp, right now.
@BigDawg61 Brother your opinions are just as valuable as anyone else on here. Gunner is our starting QB and like you I’m gonna cheer for and support him. If KS were for some reason decide to replace him I’d support whoever that is to.
We had a Great year with Gunner under center last year. He’s in the process of developing chemistry with new people in real games. No amount of practice can simulate real games. I Believe the Offense will get better each and every game they play.
If you take away two defensive TDs the Dawgs would have Still won 27-13. Against OU having the “best defense in the nation” according to many of the “experts” that’d still be a very solid win. Go Dawgs !!
P.S. Dawgs Defense capitalized on Mateer’s mistakes. If they didn’t his mistakes would’ve have just been wasted opportunities. But they Did and that’s what you want the defense to do.
Love Puglisi. Would fully support him or any other QB if Kirby decided to replace GS. But if “being in the system” is such a great thing Why is Pugs struggling in Real games ?
Answer. Because he hasn’t been in many real games. And in many of those he was in all he got to do was hand the ball off. Unfortunately that’s been the MO for allot of Dawgs QBs. Including Gunner.
If Kirby fired Gunner today I would certainly be scratching my head wondering what in the world ?? In my humble view we don’t currently have a QB ready to take over behind Gunner. That can certainly change with Real game experience.
By and large Gunner has played very good football. Mistake free ? No. But very good. And I Do see improvements this year. Just my opinions like everyone else here.
Lol....I hear Bama & Tech are looking for a few good Fans. Ya might want to check em out. They don't know anything either. You should fit right in. Tell "them" what you told us about Faulkner & Muschamp. They'll eat it up. In fact....maybe they'll go hire em for you. I certainly hope so.
As far as the Dawgs go....I wouldn't trade a single one of em. IMO....The word "connected" means there's a team flow that is facilitated by this Coaching Staff, that is rarely seen on a football field.
And, Fans like you want to break it up...to gain 100 more passing yards per game....regardless of the points it will take off the board or reduction of Wins. Makes no sense to me....if your "Goal" is "to Win Football Games".
The Dawgs are already doing that…thanks for the input, though. Lol
Lol and, uh, Lol. And Lol. Did I say Lol?
I don't look at games like that. IF....you take away this or add that...the other "would've" happened. Especially....when it involves the Dawgs. Not true....imo. And, I'll tell you why.
Momentum changes, field position, depth, health, turnovers, level of aggression in play calling, score, home/away.....are all just a few of the variables that go into "what would happen IF". You hear those things from the " experts" alot....and, they know better.
The way you were playing the game prior to "the event".... isn't necessarily, the way you will approach the game....AFTER, "the event" . Imo....everything is connected. The defense went after the bal...because they saw a weakness in how some of the Sooner were holding the bal.
That and their undisciplined nature of playing the game....Had UGA's defenders consciously going after the most important object on the field...with great technique on a couple, I might add.
It's easy to cheer for success. Lol. But it's asinine to go after a quarterback...for what?....Not being successful enough even when he leads the league in several categories. That's a Loser mentality...applied to Video Gamers. Lmao...what're ya gonna do?
Keep a close eye on Montgomery. He may be passing Puglisi on the "double naught secret" depth Chart. Lol.
Imo...Montgomery looks more comfortable behind Center and a better pocket presence...imo. Now...Puglisi aint a bad choice either...for different reaons. I haven't seen Monty play a lot.…like the rest of you. But, I've been more impressed with him, overall.
Puglisi does some things better than Montgomery....while Montgomery seems to be more of a UGA type quarterback....cool in the pocket...not afraid to run or take a hit....good arm...great long ball. Smart???...idk. We'll see...but...I assume he wouldn't be playing for Kirby, if he wasn't Smart. Lol
The fact that we should embrace....Is that, Mr. Stockton has a.....209.4 QBR....is the 3rd leading rusher for the Dawgs with 100 yds, only 33yds less than Phillips. And, Phillips has 2 more carries than Stockton.....74.3 Comp %....a 10:1 TD:INT ratio....10.8 yds/pass & 7.7 yds/rush. Now...them's some stats for ya.
Where exactly does ANYBODY.…believe that Puglisi, Montgomery.…or anybody else in the Country, save one or two guys.…can improve on the offenses production without effecting Defensive production.
Imo....Kirby wants to keep his offense on the field scoring....but, not at the expense of giving up an equal number of points on Defense. He also wants explosive plays....The catch is....if you are too explosive.…you wind up scoring pretty quick.
Then, here comes the defense...dragging' their asses back on the field in the 4th qtr of an offensive shootout. Your only hope....is that the other team is more exhausted. Not a very secure way to live...imo.
I like what the Dawgs have going with the team they have in place. Like you said....everybody, including "Team" will improve as the season progresses. They're way ahead of everybody else, right now...imo.
UGA's biggest challenge this year, is to themselves.…and I think they already know that. Cause, that's how Kirby raised em. Lol...the Dawgs are just playing 'their game".…and playing it like they invented the game of football. Couldn't be prouder....but, that doesn't mean I can't be objective. Objective doesn't mean ignoring the obvious. Lol
You’re doing an impressive amount of certainty-building on top of a sample size you admit is tiny. 😂
Stockton’s numbers are excellent. Nobody with eyes is disputing that. But jumping from “Stockton is playing well” to “nobody else on the roster could possibly improve the offense” is a pretty big leap.
And the “too explosive” argument? Come on. If Georgia can score in three plays, score in three plays. Kirby isn’t building an offense around the fear that the defense might get tired because the offense scored too fast. That sounds more like an explanation for a 1993 Big Ten game than modern championship football.
If your defense can’t handle going back on the field after a touchdown, the problem isn’t that the offense scored too quickly.
As for Montgomery being the more “UGA-type quarterback” — based on what, exactly? A handful of snaps and body language? You already said we haven’t seen much of him. That makes this less “objective analysis” and more preseason palm reading.
Puglisi and Montgomery may or may not eventually be better than Stockton. We don’t know yet. That’s the point.
What we do know is that Georgia recruits quarterbacks to push each other, not to stand around admiring the starter’s QBR.
Stockton is playing very well. Great. Let him keep proving it.
But declaring the quarterback discussion over in September because the current starter has a hot stat line is exactly the opposite of being objective.
That’s being comfortable.
Kirby generally isn’t.
And, Lol, of course.
I didn't say....anybody on the roster....I said any quarterback on the roster. There's a difference. To me, anyway. Lol
If you think Pugs or Monty can step in for Stockton without a hiccup.…i also say...you're wrong. We would see the same inconsistencies we saw from Greene, Murray, Stafford, Fromm, Bennett, Beck & Stockton (last year). It's a given....imo.
I will say...that it wouldn't be as bad as a True Freshman taking over. But, there is no doubt....production would drop.
I also didn't say.....that UGA shouldn't score in 3 plays if they can. You had to reach around your ass to find that one and twist it.
I said that Kirby...as established in numerous interviews over the Years....employs "complimentary football with a strong running game and defense....in order to take advantage of the play-action.....creating one-on-ones in space...at a minimum.…to keep the chains moving.
As long as you can drive the ball...you allow the defense the opportunity to pin the other team back on their side of the field. It's a game, man. Lol....I NEVER said don't score if you can. That's insane.
With UGA...imo....it's always been about ball control and defense. Moving the ball consistently has been the goal. If you can do that....the points and wins will come.
This year, though....Kirby's cake comes with a pile of colorful icing in the form of elite & experienced, RB's, TE's, O-Line & Receivers....not to mention great special teams and defense. All of em can block downfield with the best of em, too (great coaching). Stockton is a baked in part of that cake, the offense was designed for him. Change the ingredients, and you change the cake design. But, the icing is still gonna be good.
In other words....the consequences of any QB change.…would be lessened by the supporting cast. But, there will still be negative consequences that would not have occurred otherwise. You don't have to have a crystal ball to predict that...imo. Lol
Go get em Big Red....they still don't see. But...they will. Lol
Here’s where your argument gets ahead of your evidence.
I’ll grant you this: if Stockton went down tomorrow, there probably would be some adjustment period. He’s the experienced starter and the offense has been built around what he does well.
But “there would be an adjustment” is a very different claim from “production would definitely decline” in any meaningful or lasting way.
We simply haven’t seen enough of Puglisi or Montgomery with the first-team offense to know that.
And Oklahoma actually undercuts the idea that Stockton is some indispensable ingredient in the recipe. Georgia just scored 41 points while Stockton threw for 171 yards with one touchdown and one interception. The defense, run game, field position and explosive plays did a ton of the heavy lifting.
Which sounds an awful lot like the complementary football you’re lecturing everybody about. 😂
So yes, Stockton is playing well and deserves to start.
But you can’t simultaneously argue that Georgia has this elite supporting cast capable of insulating the quarterback, then insist changing quarterbacks necessarily cripples production.
That’s the part that doesn’t hold together.
And Montgomery closing the gap on Puglisi is a legitimate discussion. Even people covering Georgia closely have reported that Montgomery gained ground during camp.
Nobody is saying bench Stockton.
We’re saying you don’t know the ceiling of the guys behind him yet.
Neither do I.
That’s why one of us is leaving the question open and the other one keeps ending every prediction with “imo” and calling it a fact. 😂
Go Dawgs.
Okay…that's absolutely true. It's all speculation. I don't deny that. But, it's based on my experience and eye. Not trying to toot a horn or anything...but, to explain my point of view....you should know I look at various angles to establish an opinion.
Sometimes I see things others don't.…and, sometimes I'm guilty myself of writing off the obvious, in order to rationalize an opinion. It usually catches up with you and opinions change.
Right now....i think the Dawgs ride or die with Stockton at the helm. The sad thing is....He may not even be challenged this Season. Lol....that hurts any chance of Personal accolades.
BELOW....See a clip from ESPN's CFB Website above....a grading of DIV1 QB's by Bill Connelly [not an SEC Fan] regarding Quarterback hierarchy in the Heisman Race....
"He's eighth only because he has been asked to do the least of any of the top eight guys. Stockton has had to average only 20 dropbacks per game because of early blowouts, but he has brought an extra level of explosiveness to the table this season, and it might be making Georgia the best team in the country. Among power conference QBs, only Stockton, Sayin and Russell rank in the top 15 in both completion rate and yards per completion. His Dawgs are rolling."_____Bill Connelly, ESPN
Great points. Civil reasoning. But I don’t think we’ve seen Gunner’s ceiling yet either. I love Pugs. Love All our QBs and players. But in his limited times he seems to be struggling. You see KS chewing on him on the sideline quite a bit. So Montgomery might surpass him. Gunner has been in some Big games. So with the remaining games if we had to replace him the new QB would have to find his footing quick !! Just my opinions.
Now we’re getting somewhere. 😂
I don’t have any problem with saying your opinion is based on what you’ve seen. That’s what all of us are doing to some extent.
And I’m not arguing against Stockton. The kid has been terrific.
But I think the Connelly quote actually illustrates the distinction I’ve been making.
Read the first sentence again: Stockton is eighth because he’s been asked to do less than the other quarterbacks in that group.
That’s not criticism of Stockton. It’s a compliment to Georgia.
The Dawgs have been good enough that he hasn’t had to carry them.
And THAT is why I stop short of “ride or die with Stockton.”
Maybe we are. We just don’t know yet.
If Georgia eventually gets into a fourth-quarter game against an elite defense, the running game gets bottled up, and Stockton has to throw it 35 or 40 times to win, we’ll learn more about just how high his ceiling is when Georgia has to put the game primarily on his arm.
Connelly’s point is that Stockton has been extraordinarily efficient and explosive with the opportunities he’s been given.
Agreed.
But that’s different from proving Georgia cannot function at the same level with anybody else.
Nobody is saying Puglisi or Montgomery would be better.
We’re saying we don’t know.
Neither do you.
And now, happily, you’ve admitted it. 😂
That means after three thousand words, we’ve finally arrived at my original point.
