ATHENS — The numbers from the Vanderbilt game don’t tell the entire story.

Yep, after watching both games yesterday, i think Bama has a stronger LOS on both sides of the ball. And that is where the Dawgs will win or lose the game. We didn't contain the edge well yesterday when we brought any kind of pass rush. Our secondary was easily picked apart at times, especially in the 1st half. All 9f this against a backup QB should be concerning going into our toughest contest of the season.
Did we under estimate Vandy? Our stronger talent prevailed but we showed some ragged play. Got to get better on pass D and QB containment.
“Robinson and Demello Jones were the offending parties on the pass interference calls, with Jones’ setting Vanderbilt up with a first-and-goal.”
They’re going to have to have safety help to guard Williams. He is incredibly fast and able catch even in tight coverage. Constant pressure on Russell is a must also, or it could be a long night!
GO DAWGS!
We all know the history of Kirby’s defense with running QB’s, so I’m not expecting that trend to change. But for the love of Lawrence H. Munson, remind the safeties to remember the basics learned from their Pop Warners days.
@MontanaDawg - I hear ya, but I’m not convinced Blaze is really their backup QB. He was named the starter after fall camp. I assume because he was better than Curtis. Also assume Curtis wasn’t happy with that decision. Afterall, the consensus is that he went to Vandy because he was told he would be the starter as a freshman. In this day and time, when the hotshot recruit doesn’t get his way, he transfers.
So, I’m thinking Blaze is actually better at this point in time, but if Vandy wants to keep Curtis at Vandy, they better let him play or he’s gone.
yup, this ELITE secondary I heard about all off-season has been the weakest link all year! Bama going to light us up if they can’t jam them at the LOS and keep back peddling 10-15 yards off the ball!
