Vanderbilt found some positive things on offense against Georgia, moving the ball in the air and on the ground.

Vandy’s left tackle, #51 Azubuike, was awesome for them. Surprised the announcers didn’t mention him not once
Dawgs have now averaged 6.5 yards per carry through 5 games while allowing only 1.91 yards per carry. Bama has averaged now 4.9 yards per carry through 5 games. Their defense has allowed only 2.5 yards/carry. LOS play wins the day. After watching both games yesterday, the battle of the trenches will be where this matchup is going to be won or lost in Tuscaloosa. From what I watched yesterday, and considering the level of competition each team was playing, Bama's LOS looked a bit better than how the Dawgs performed yesterday. Either way, it will be a dog fight.
the defense letting the receivers get behind them for a long gain will be a big problem against Bama plus the fact Vandys backup QB ran all over the field. If Kirby doesn’t right the ship it will be a long night for the dawgs but then again we seem to play poor against the lesser opponents and up to par on the tough ones. Glad to see Florida got humbled.
Contrary to the title of this article, I didn't think Vandy slowed our run game as much as we didn't try to establish a run game. Just rewatch the first offensive series. There was a definite play calling scheme to pass. Vandy announced earlier in the week that they would emphasize stopping our run game. Bobo obviously paid attention.
It takes stones to say “I’m proud of how our team played in a 24 point loss, where we were shut out and held to under 60 yards in the second half”.
Kudos on your mediocrity.
We can only hope that Kirby still hasn’t opened the playbook on both sides of the ball because based on what our Dawgs showed yesterday, next Saturday could be a long night. Kirby has not won there yet. One third of his 21 losses have been to them. Time to change that next Saturday. Go Dawgs!
Does Pat Dye have any relatives with media connections that can call out the Dawgs manhood?
What an awesome memory that brings up!
Certainly did the trick that day!
Go Dawgs! Hate on rolling elephants!
The Vanderbilt coach just talks and talks and talks. Never met an adjective that wasn't awesome or delightful or full of integrity.
Agree...either MG doesnt know what hes talking about or the headline writer doesnt understand football probably a little of both.
They're just trying to form their own narrative. Accuracy be damned as usual
@CTD The run game didn't get on track, Vanderbilt filled the gaps and forced the pass game — which Gunner executed beautifully against the Commodores. I'd expect more teams will continue to challenge UGA pass game, or, they die a slow death against the ground game. Take Bo Walker's big run out and it was a bad day for the Bulldogs on the ground, especially when you consider the success against other teams this season.
