A state of emergency has been declared in 40 counties in Alabama, including Tuscaloosa County where Georgia is scheduled to play Alabama at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Why not decide that dangerous conditions are highly likely for everyone in Alabama Saturday and put the game in a " neutral" stadium like Atlanta. Make the decision early enough to help those with tickets and all things included to lessen the inconvenience. It's not like these teams haven't been there before....
Go Dawgs!!!
Hard to imagine this game will be played on schedule. If it is it will probably be miserable conditions for playing football. Biggest game of the SEC regular season will decide who plays in the SECCG.
Moving the game to another site at this late stage would be a logistical nightmare. Transportation of players and equipment, manipulating seat assignments of ticket holders, lodging of fans who are traveling, etc. Why not just move it to Monday night and stay in Tuscaloosa?
It is ridiculous that they have not moved this game already. Make the decision and announce it so you don’t leave 100,000 people hanging. Or postpone it, if that is all that can be done at this short notice. The league office and Alabama are looking like greedy fools with that last statement.
Kay Ivey should take that decision out of the U of A idiots hands. No wonder Bama is listed so low on the list of good schools.
It's dry in Mercedes Benz stadium. Are there no other closed ceiling venues in Alabama?
Which team controls the Line of scrimmage and BALL SECURITY may be the two most important things Saturday night. Slick field and torn turf...expect more injuries too.
Newest weather forecasts show this storm will be way past Tuscaloosa by game time. It will be a soggy field but the storm will be gone.
Too late to move the game to the Benz. Really should have been done a week ago. May want to consider postponing the game.
@dare2554....hope you are right. In any case, I gotta hope the field crew is smart enough to cover the field BEFORE and during the heavy rains period. If so, the field itself might stay in pretty decent shape.
State of Emergency but let's get 100K fans on the highways! You can't amake this stuff up with BAMA Athletic Dept. THey think the storm will just dematerialize? Could the two teams still technically play if there are no risk for tornadoes(usually are). yeh, but who needs to be on the road with downed trees, powerlines, and or flood watrs? Call me crazy.
THe forecast I just looed at by the Weather Channel from 3 hours ago had to storm sitting over Tuscaloosa area Saturday afternoon. No way this far out they can say it will be "way past" that area by game time.
Bama is now asking fans to bring chain saws, debris trailers and 5 cases of bottled water each, and asking them to arrive before noon to assist in hurricane cleanup.
Yeah...fans just get out on the roads along with UGA team having to travel during the day while a state of emergency is enacted.
No matter if it's way passed...come on. Youre telling UGA to fly in Friday night when the storm is hitting with 65 mph winds and tornado threats. Do you hear yourself....soggy fueld? Thats your concern? And fans. Just drive thru those conditions. After all...the storm will be way passed at game time.
The SEC AND BAMA DONT GIVE A **** ABOUT SAFETY HERE. MONEY AND TV. GOTTA GET MY CUT. Amazing.
Where will the team be Friday night? I'd hate for them to be flying in on Saturday with storm going on
