There was more than one winner and loser in Georgia's 20-17 win at Alabama on Saturday night in Tuscaloosa.

WARNING !! OFF TOPIC !! I want to with All my heart apologize to the world for some extremely selfish and idiotic comments I made on here Sat. night. Toward the end of the game the Channel 2 Weather Lady came on and gave a lengthy and detailed update on the storm.
That’s her job. And she did it well. But I was bellyaching and whining about it cutting into the game. I am So very sorry. But I was praying for Before, During and After for the people in harms way. And will continue to. My complaining was/is the epitome of selfishness. And I do apologize for my childish behavior. May God bless and help all the people affected by the storm. I will donate to a charity that I Know will help.
Winner: Dwight Phillips Jr.
"Georgia’s Little Big Man provided a spark the Bulldogs needed to get their offense on track, gobbling yardage in chunks with his quick, electrifying and fearless style to the tune of 120 yards on 17 carries."
It was amazing to watch Phillips carve up the Bama defense on Saturday night. They knew that the Dawg's rushing attack was challenged with injuries to Bowens and Frazier, but they didn't expect to get lit up by Phillips. He had the night of his life and I am so glad for him and hope to see a lot more of it!
GO DAWGS!
Dwight Phillips has the vision and speed. He is just scratching the surface. Bo Walker is getting better. Never know when your number will be called.
Funny how UGA's QB is usually the leader - it's like we have the best QB coaches or something. Yet, somehow, **** 5 star QB's decide to go to Vanderbilt or Nebraska for an extra million dollars. They ruin their chance at the NFL. Raiola will never be a starter in the NFL, because he didn't stick with his commitment. He cost himself 10's of millions.
All of the above, with the exception of a wasted mention of anything to do with Stephen Smith, are on point and great observations. I would add one for both the O and D line. Both were clearly the better units as the game wore on, and each began to dictate the game and how it flowed. Love how the entire team did their jobs and did them well to the point of a win on the road, at night, in a very hostile (even the television clowns were hostile!) environment, with some very young players stepping up. What a game and it won't always go our way, but this team, and mostly this program, is built different. Go DAWGS!
Yes indeed Phillips (aka Peanut) was a hero. I was thinking he was 3rd in the pecking order behind Frazier and Bowen, but I forgot about us losing Dante Dowdell. Good point about losing the 5-star QBs. It broke my heart to see Raiola get benched in his first start at Oregon…….NOT. BTW, he was 6/19 passing for 43 yards and 2 interceptions. I think we are just fine without that clown and I’ll take Gunner any day. Go Dawgs!!!
I strongly suspect that Coach Smart would like very much for Jeff “Duntzler” and others to S T F U with this “king” Kirby nonsense. Hope some of the press asks Kirby in a live session how he feels about the “king” moniker suggested by Dantzler. I would pay to see those fireworks.
Nice article, Mike, very comprehensive and far reaching. I especially liked the comments about the BAMA fans.
Raylen Wilson is a WINNER for how he handled this situation (see video link below). After the game, as he was exiting the field, he was called over to the stands by someone he thought to be a UGA fan. When he got there, the guy (Alabama fan) starts hitting him in the helmet and pushing him away! Wilson just got out of there without any further incident and demonstrated some incredible restraint and maturity while he actually had every right to defend himself. This happened while the entire team was being pelted with water bottles and beer cans.
Bama Fan Puts Hands on UGA Player 😳😬
Where is my him or me hat and shirt?
The Oline deserves more love after that performance. Besides Green and Bobo these guys are true freshman and sophomore players. Gaston and Glover had a huge mix up on Cash Jones’ 4th down run against Bama last year, but that experience is paying huge dividends this year.
Thanks Mike, especially for calling out the little Nick. The man must certainly have a net worth exceeding $100,000,000 but, while drawing a $500,000 annual gift (he ain’t working for it) from Bama, he apparently needs even more money so he does ESPN stuff and makes commercials so he won’t go broke. I admit to being frustrated at having to see him during TV breaks during the Bama game. It’s adding insult to injury. Enough is enough for crying out loud. I would add Bo Walker and the OL to your list of winners. Of course, we could also add the WRs and TEs and the DBs. It was a team effort. So proud of our Dawgs.
Super article but I beg to differ on one point. i think Kalen DeBoer was a big loser! Why? Because anytime anything didn't go his way, he was blaming somebody else, usually an Alabama player, though sometimes the ref. Not a teaching moment: pure blame shifting. The kids surely noticed this. The worst was at game end when he loudly blamed the player who made the last mistake as responsible solely for the loss. I predict lots of transfers out after this season and many lost recruiting committments.
That guy is clearly identifiable and I hope he was arrested shortly after. I doubt it because their fans are accepted as pure trash.
Great point. I hope the person that harassed and pushed Raylen has been identified and prosecuted if applicable. Minimally, should be banned from further Bama/college football games.
