Georgia safety KJ Bolden addressed the potential pass interference that ABC commentators discussed at length with 3 1/2 minutes left to play.

Herbstreit bows his head at the Saban alter and Fowler, more than happily, follows his lead. Alabama does no wrong, its only the team they're playing.
THe amount of BAMA love by the broadcast crew was Gaggable. NEver seenanythingh like it, it was even more than it is when it's Texas and Arch MAnning!
I just remember all the touchy PI calls that went against us when Saban ruled. Our DB's couldn't breathe on their receivers and their DB's were mugging our receivers. Not to mention the incomplete pass on 4th down that was called a catch but the refs couldn't be bothered to stop the game and review it! Where was the BAMA outrage? Oh, that's right!
that’s usually a PI call - fine - but it would have taken a miracle from God for Bama to catch it. If Bolden turns his head around like he should have, that’s an interception or it likely bounces off him.
With regard to the non-interference call, I keep reading a lot of people noting that the pass itself was "uncatchable." By the rules, a ball deemed "uncatchable" means that, in the opinion of the referees, the ball could not have possibly been caught by the receiver even if there were no defenders on the play or pass interference. On this play, if there had been no defenders guarding the receiver, he would have easily been able to adjust his route and path to the football (which was underthrown), and made the catch. Or at least he could have tried to make the catch. The interference (or non-interference) by Bolden, just made such an attempt all but impossible. Bolden himself acknowledges as much in the story. He said he was just trying to get the ball out, "even if we get pass interference." The ball was "uncatchable" only because Georgia defenders (particularly Bolden) as they should, prevented the receiver from being able to attempt the catch.
The Barn and Bama both have a history of trying to hurt our QBs. Typical thugs!
Mike from what I saw the PI was in the endzone so the ball would have been on the 2 yard line.
Chickens come home to roost. The 2018 NC game when offsides was called after a blocked punt which would have given the dogs either a 14 or 18 points. Replay showed that he was no where near offsides.
2023 SEC championship.the refs missed the 4th down dropped pass and Bama went on to score a TD and win by 4.
Both of those plays directly affected GA's chances of a NC. The stakes in this regular season game were not anywhere near as close as bad and no calls in 2018 and 2023. Bama didn't drop a spot.
I mean, I get it, but at the same time I really HATE it when people blame the refs for everything. There's many, many calls/no calls that get made throughout the the game and this game certainly could have gone either way. The way I look at it is that a penalty turned a TD into a FG for us, we missed a chip-shot from one of the best kickers in the country and we wound up with the ball in great field position with 3 timeouts and a high likelihood of getting at least a FG. That's not to mention the number of times Bama has gotten away with penalties under Saban.
So, it is what it is. Bama didn't drop a single spot and we claim #1.
Don't forget....the Phantom "Holding Call" on the left TE that brought back a 28 yard Phillips scamper down the left sideline.
Even Herbstreit er'd & uh'd after that one....ending with "it could've been called either way.…probably should've let that go". There was a couple of those and a ton of no-call Holding penalties on them.
That's football. What the hell has that got to do with the gem Kirby's Dawgs left in Bryant-Denny? They should be raving about that instead of helping Bama cry a river.
But....that's the ESPN Puppets for ya. Totin' the Official Disney/Saban Corporate water jug. Lol
Go get em Big Red....ya got em on the ropes, now. Lick your wounds and beat Auburn....then....Drop the hammer against Florida. Gator Kabobs....I love. Lol
I just want to know why he didn't play the ball. If he had, there would have been no justification for a PI call.
I thought the refs were correcting their mistake on the Luckie holding mis-call with the PI no-call.
