ATHENS — One of the clear things Kirby Smart wants to get out of Georgia’s off week is a healthier football team.

Hey, if Stockton cannot go, I am worried about our chances. Pug and Montgomery just have not had the SEC game reps. I am worried about not playing multiple backs in the game, as it always gives us fresh legs. I am very concerned about the backend help on defense if KJ Bolden cannot go.
Luck of the draw will determine what teams can make it to and through the regular season and soon-to-be-longer playoffs involving up to (17) games. We do not have a good track record for injuries and it definitely affected our performance towards the end of the season last year. It's going to do the same this season if we do not get a few of those key guys back and keep other key players from getting banged up. Whichever team has the best bench may win the Natty.
Yes, a concern, but I feel a lot better about Puglisi after the way he played Saturday.
If Stockton is breathing, he will start and play all game against Florida. I mean good grief, he was knocked out of Saturday's game, had a stinger, Puglisi played as well as he could play, yet the coaches STILL went back with Stockton for the duration. Florida is significantly better than Auburn, so if they played a wounded, unrested, turnover-prone Stockton against Auburn, you KNOW they're going to play him against Florida. I hate "coach speak." When Kirby says he's "hopeful" to get somebody back, that typically means they're out at least a month. So, I'm not expecting KJ to play against the Gators. And sounds like they don't trust Bo Walker in pass protection. He will play a lot if Frazier or Phillips are unable to, but if both are healthy, they'll get all the work at RB. Bowens is out for the regular season at least. I've given up on Isaiah Canion playing for Georgia again, but I never was high on him anyway. I just don't think he's nearly as good as the hype, and the guys who are playing are doing well. Now if we could get Blackshear back, I'd take him over Canion.
Every team deals with injuries. Kirby prides himself on developing depth. No excuses; next man up.
I hate that 3 of our top 4 portal players have not contributed this year due to injuries (ie. Isiah Canion, Amaris Williams and Dante Dowdell). I believe all of these guys were headed to the NFL after this season since they had stellar seasons prior to the current one. I guess the silver lining is we will now likely have most of them back next year since this season has been a wash for all of them. Hopefully Dante can recover from his ATV accident and play football again. Go Dawgs!!!
When you rely on physicality, a high number of injuries are known result. Hey, there’s a bench full of fresh, healthy 4-5 star TE’s. Maybe they could help🤷
while I welcome the time off allowing some to heal ,for some reason we seem to come back a little sluggish after a week off. Can't afford to let that happen against the Gators
Maybe Kirby needs to start looking at the stats. Everyone in the stadium could see that Nate was not what he was. Hopefully he will get back to where he was. I understand needing to heal, but as soon as the team is up to it the hard practices with a lot of attention to tackling needs to resume. The team need to look at all the terrible film moments over and over. Learn from it. This team is very tough and talented, and yes beat up after that war with Bama. I think they will bounce back against UF and get ready to face Ole Miss. Bama was also beaten up, and probably would not have lost to the hillbillies otherwise. It's all far from over.
I believe it’s time to move on and frankly quit harping on how much Bolden’s injury affected the outcome of the AU game. He is definitely a good/great player and yes it would have been beneficial to have him healthy and in there but it’s not as if we’ve lost Herschel Walker. AU was without their best by far defensive player, suspended now dismissed linebacker, and they managed to essentially take away our running game and also affect the passing game. We lost because the game on our part was basically a comedy of errors and AU just played harder and better. Time to heal up if possible and if not get “ the next man up” ready to play at a high level. I for one think our coaching staff can do that. Go Dawgs!
