ATHENS — Georgia entered its off week wanting to prioritize two things.

I'd mostly agree with those grades. Honestly, despite all the miscues, poor tackling, missed FG, and general lack of execution last week, if we don't turn the ball over (3) times then we most likely win that game. But, football can be a cruel teacher of lessons and coulda, wouldas...
Remember Florida has beaten Ole Miss and Texas. The Gators won't be a pushover, but I expect a Dawg reset redemption take-our-frustrations-out-on-them-Gators kinda game on Halloween.
The substandard special teams play will regretfully rear its **** head again this season if not fixed. Unusual for a Kirby Smart coached team.
But the loss at home to Auburn somewhat diminishes the road win over Auburn.
One can see how it might. But, I've forgotten that particular game.
Go, Dawgs!
How in the WORLD do the Tight Ends rate a “B”?! Explaining it by saying the receiver production has eaten into their production and then dinging them for the number of receptions? That is just plain ridiculous. You cannot catch what is not thrown.
Lawson Luckie has been amazing every time he touches the ball, including that crazy ricochet catch that went for 20 - 30 yards. Barbour, Williams, Reddell… Please, tell me which of these is underperforming? I’m sorry, but there is nothing in their play that should rate anything below an “A”. How on the world do you justify that?
Exactly so.
Did you expect the grades to be logical and make sense? Go, Dawgs!
“But leaving anything to chance with the College Football Playoff committee is always a risk.”
So true! There has to be a better way of ranking teams than the way the “committee” does it. They clearly have their favorites like Bama who can get Dawg whipped 28-7 and not get ranked any lower than they were before that beatdown. Their methodology, whatever it actually is, is indefensible.
@MontanaDawg - You’re so right about Florida. They’ll be ready for the Dawgs. Plus, the next three after Florida won’t be easy either. Ole Miss, Missouri, and South Carolina are all better than Auburn. Our D’s inability to contain running QB’s gives me nightmares.
Their methodology is subjective and highly variable. The "rules" change willy nilly. What else is new? The current system is much like the old system with a veneer of objectivity.
To be fair, everything becomes more clear as the season progresses including the biases. Watch how Notre Dame "recovers" from losing to BYU who then lost to CFU. One thing which is very clear to most of us is the biases towards certain teams.
Is there a secret metric for boosting rankings based on a team's projected tv ratings and ability to make money for ESPN?
Go, Dawgs
LSU's domination of AU @AU is telling. It tells everyone that UGA can be had by playing bully ball. Vandy, Ark (SEC cupcakes) and the 2 cupcakes to start the season were good growing experiences for a young team. But beating those teams easily may have been misleading in the true level of the UGA team.
WR's an A and TE's a B? Switch those 2. Oh and CMB, THROW THE BALL TO THE TE'S! Defensive grades, across the board, are too high considering the struggles against AL and AU.
Musta missed the home and home w/AU.
LSU against auburn on Saturday was example of how you defense running quarterbacks. Your linebackers and secondary have to arrive in a hurry, and in a bad mood, and use their arms to lock up and get people on the ground.
Dawgs defense did not run to the football as a unit against Auburn as well as they had in previous games. Hope the off week helps them get their mojo back!
A 10-2 record probably gets Georgia into the College Football Playoff…
10-2 not probably, definitely
Any 10-2 SEC team will dance. The conference parity is brutal
U-G-L-Y is censored by the powers that be? This is truly a bizarre world!!!!
UGA must be able to rush the football vs UF IMO to win.
Need a coaching grade. It would be an A before Auburn, but the team was totally unprepared both physically and mentally for that game. That's on the coaches.
