Georgia has shown great potential this season with improvement in most areas, but a 27-24 loss to Auburn begs questions.

I wish there was a category for containment of scrambling QBs. They seems to give us fits. We have reason to be optimistic with our potential and actual talent but realism says if we play like we did against Auburn playoffs participation could be a big question mark
Containing key injuries are one of the biggest keys to remaining competitive through any playoffs. I mean it is HUGE now. We even saw the effects last season with the Dawgs and their one-and-done playoffs. Very few 4 and 5 stars sitting on your bench. Parity has come to roost and unlike past seasons where one team is hands-down better than another, I do think the competition is just going to get fiercer the more seasons we get into this new era. Luckily, with 24-team playoff, a 3 and 4-loss team will be pretty normal. Losing a QB like Sayin' or imagine if Miami lost Toney or Mensah…those (2) guys are most of their offensive production this season (over 85% of Mensah's passes have been to Toney).
@Jamboogie Florida's QBs aren't as mobile as others out there
@MontanaDawg Toney is incredible, but there's a danger to relying on one player too much. We'll learn more when ND plays Miami
I'm concerned about the defense holding up now that they will be facing better offenses going forward. Thinking back, it was disturbing to see how easily Vandy could rush between the tackles, and the Auburn game had a similar feel in terms of the overall sloppy effort. Too many times, communication has been lacking on defense.
Before the season, I felt the 2026 Dawgs had the offense/defense/ST to play an elite brand of complementary football. We have seen flashes of that (e.g., first half vs OU, much of the game vs Bama, first few minutes of Auburn) and it has been great to see mostly fast starts. It goes without saying, but what the Dawgs must avoid going forward are the disturbing lapses in focus. If they play that way against superior offenses like UF/Ole Miss, they will quickly get behind by multiple scores.
I’m with @Eric_C - Personally, I wasn’t overly impressed with our D even early on this season. Mateer even looked effective when not doing his turnover thing. Then I witnessed Vandy’s backup QB move the ball easily at times. Then I watched in horror as a less than elite Auburn QB ran for long gains time and time again. Other than Robinson III and KJ, the DB’s have not looked elite in coverage. The DL hasn’t been dominate against the run. In short, so far the D has not been that impressive imo. The offense has been good, at times great. Gunner had a bad day against Auburn, but we still should have won that game easily. Bobo momentarily reverted back to going too conservative with his play calling for about half the Auburn game. IMO, that’s what actually costs us the game, especially when coupled with 3 turnovers. What’s ahead? Potential big time trouble. Florida, while inconsistent, is a very good team. Ole Miss had a terrible first half vs. Texas and still could have won the game. Can’t figure Missouri out. South Carolina can beat anybody when playing well. Currently not concerned about Tech. We might go 11-1. More likely 10-2. But, scarily could go 9-3. Only time will tell. Hoping the D steps up and Bobo stays aggressive with his play calling. If so, we go 11-1 imo.
@JBMDawg46 Very fair assessment!
@Eric_C Agreed, watching Ole Miss take Vandy apart the week after UGA had its struggles with the Dores was alarming
As Kirby says, we live and die by running the ball and stopping the run...and that includes the QB. Worst game of the season as we were pretty lousy at both. And we lost.
