What gives? Two year starting QB , best OC in the country (Kirby’s words) good running game ,some of the best TE’S in the country. And 4 star and 1 five star receivers! And we have such a poor passing game!
On one side, a win is a win. On yhe other…we have some incredibly under utilized offensive players
First of all, a GREAT performance from the defense. I hope they play the same against Ole Miss - just lights out! Not a fan of how the offense played tonight. Stockton has not looked "right" the past two games, and I am not sure what it is. His poor performance in the Auburn game was blamed on a hurt shoulder. If that was the case, why did he run so much tonight? The dawgs were playing one of college football's worst pass defenses and yet - very few passes to stretch the field. And, of the 12 or so times Stockton ran the ball, probably half were designed plays. When the game was basically over (last 5 mins), he ran the ball again and again. What was the purpose of that?? Why get him hurt before the big game at Ole Miss? There is something up with him. Another missed FG tonight as well. Our kicker, who was crazy good last year, is not automatic. I hate to complain, but if we have to have a shoot out with Ole Miss next week, I am not sure Stockton is up to the task. Other than that, so glad we won and GO DAWGS!
The quarterback #14 must take deeper steps back if wants to make better completion to his receivers. The defense is outstanding.
Yes! My thoughts as well! Why are the TEs such an afterthought in these games?? 1 throw to Luckie, 2 to Reddell. Where was Barbour? Williams? Heinrich? Did they not suit up? I mean, put them out there against some linebackers and watch the magic happen! Where are the slot plays, the angles? If we have problem getting separation, those types of plays help. Bobo was amazingly conservative, when he should have opened the playbook against this poor Florida pass defense!
No doubt! He is having trouble lot lately, with some batted down passes at the line. Move him outside the pocket or start practicing putting more "lift" on his passes!
Well IF Gunner was following the plays called That was a large part of the problem in my view. Bobo just loves the bubble screens. I think the Dawgs can win on running the ball though As Long As the Defense continues to play like they did tonight !!
How about running back in motion - empty backfield - QB run. How many unsuccessful times did that happen. I could have called the FL defense from my couch.
The play calling was horrible. The most predictable and unimaginative game offensively in awhile. Gunner looked like he was playing scared to be honest. Too many batted down passes, too many missed receivers down field. Florida doesn't have a great pass defense and we seemed afraid to throw it down field most of the time. The defense was lights out but Florida gave them plenty of help. This kind of showing won't beat Ole Miss. Special Teams is anything but. What's up with Wooodring? He looks like he's got the yips all of the sudden. Still, a win is a win. And Sacovie White Helton will cost us a game if he doesn't learn how to properly field a punt. I hold my breath every time.
the two back to back Stockton runs inside the 5 yard line? Just kept repeating it on another drive !
Agreed on your points! And yes, there is something up with Woodring. The third straight game where he has missed a FG? Can he be counted on at Ole Miss if the game is on the line??
I don’t know. But we need to keep in mind this same UF team curb stomped Ole Miss. So there’s hope. I didn’t see that game but best of my knowledge UF did that by running the ball. SO if our Defense can continue their winning ways perhaps we can run the ball on Ole Miss.
Peanut Phillips is a Beast !! Frazier looks like he’s feeling much better. And Walker is no slouch. Maybe if we can complete enough passes to keep them honest it’ll be enough. In my humble view Mike Bobo was more the issue than Gunner. Just my opinions.
Have not beaten UF on Halloween since 1936? Actually it was 1931 I believe. And we only played them 4 times since until today. So, we are 4-2 now on Halloween. Not as bad as it reads.
We had 2 weeks to prepare and we get 4 turnovers and can only score 20 points on offense, Bobo is not a genius and extremely predictable. Defense looked good several sacks, 11 TFL, scope and score and 3 picks.
Sorry. I meant 2-4 on Halloween
