Are you serious? This joke of a coach actually admitted that he wanted to run on the field and make a tackle? Sounds like fla got a coach that fits its personality and culture. Go Dawgs! Gaytors eat snot!
I agree !! And I thought I lacked self discipline in my old age ! This guy doesn’t need to be a coach if he thinks he’s still a player ! Always great to beat thd hated mud lizards !! Go Dawgs !!
I don't blame the guy for wanting to make a tackle. When I look at Mario Cristobal at Miami, I always think he's about two seconds from going complete Rambo. But, where I do blame Sumrall (and the other Gator coaches) is that they're saying their players did all of these bad or wrong things during the game, and yet they had two weeks to prepare just like Georgia did. If receivers are misaligned or running the wrong routes or the defense is in the wrong play, that's not just on the players. The coaches bear a lot of that responsibility, too. So, instead of Sumrall wanting to go on the field and tackle someone, he needs to buckle down on the practice field.
But you have to like his intensity😝 One day he will pull what **** Hayes did against Clemson that got him fired🤷😝
This is almost like beating Tech twice in one year.
I know everyone has moved on from this story but I must say, Sumrall reminds me of those really old-school coaches who thinks the answer to overcoming any deficiency in your team is by just being super angry and frustrated. Quite frankly, I've always wondered about coaches like that. Are they truly that frustrated or is that like a little ploy so that fans and administrators will say, "don't be too hard on him, no one is more upset about these losses than he is." Maybe Sumrall thought he would be the next Cignetti, or even Will Stein. But right now, he's just the current head coach of the University of Florida, and they aren't very good at the moment.
