ATLANTA — It’s easy for quarterbacks to say that as long as their team wins, they don’t care about stats. That might not always actually be true, but it’s all part of the job of being the face of the team.

wow Conner you really negative on a QB whole hasn’t lost in that stadium. So what college team did you play for? Personally I don’t think you qualify to write a story about something you never experienced. If not for the fumble against Auburn, Gunner would be undefeated. Go Gunner and Go dawgs.
watching North Carolina passing at will against Miami. No run game! Great looking qb and receivers. No passes batted down! Maybe it’s Bobby Petrino,
Smart said Gunner gets the tough, dirty yards. SO TRUE !! But he gets very little credit for those yards. I can’t count the times he’s picked up Vital first downs for the Dawgs. With his personality being what it is I’m confident Gunner could care less about the Heisman. He probably does care about the NFL, but not for the $$. But because he Loves the game of football and wants to Play !!
Mike Bobo can at times be masterful in his play calling but at other times it’s like he gets stuck on plays that are not working. So there have been times he’s made Gunner not look so good. Sometimes the WRs & TEs have helped Gunner look better other times not so much. Today was in the not so much catagory.
I wish I had the rushing yds. stats for UF vs Ole Miss as that’s how the lizards beat them. With Dwight Phillips absolutely showing out like he has. And Frazier seems to be back at 100%. Walker is a very capable RB. I like our chances vs. Ole Miss.
IF our Dawgs can run the ball successfully then they can keep Chambliss and his crew on the sidelines. Even if they can’t if our Defense plays like they did today I like our chances. Go Dawgs !!
The best “NFL Looking” QB other than Fran Tarkenton is in the NFL. Matt Stafford. And he’ll probably end up in the NFL HOF. Arron Murray was a Great college level QB. And still owns records that not even Peyton Manning broke !! Gunner is a very good college level QB working toward Great. The game last Sat. was a TEAM break down. A horrible, terrible Fluke.
Love Gunner and Mike Bobo, we have an incredible group of men. No heroes, no goats just a bunch of folk pulling in th same direction. Great to see them turn off th outside noise and pick each other up after negative plays. This bunch is really good and are gona get much better. Really enjoy this scrappy bunch coaches included.
I’m going to defend Humphrey. The first pass was a bit behind him as he was flaring out. Yes, he could have and probably should have caught it but not the best of throws.
The second, Humphreys went high and it would have been a heck of a catch but the defender knocked it loose. It was NOT a drop.
Hey Brother I have a sincere request of you. Would you please lift a unspoken prayer request for me ? God knows. Thank You ! God Bless you and All our fellow Dawgs fans !!
It'll "Be True"….as long as Kirby Smart is there. Lolol…..when are you media-heads gonna let that fact wrap around your brain.
Imo…It's about buying wins with as vanilla a playbook as you can muster. The Dawgs GAVE Ole Miss NOTHING to woek with on film.
The Dawgs haven't even popped the top on their " Passing Game". And, if they can go through the entire Season & CFP running theball and dominating on Defense….that's exactly what Kirby will do.
You notice in the closer games….Bobo peals back the top on the Passing Game a little bit….and, the results are usually a minor blowout.
EVERYTHING….on and off the field was working against UGA in the Auburn Game. And, I got news for you….Auburn is under rated and will probably beat Bama at the end of the year….if they continue ti improve, like they have.
We talk about "iron sharpening iron", in practice and Spring training. This is what it looks like when two thirds of the Conference is made of Iron. If you aren't finding a way to get better every week….it's already over for ya. Lol
Like i said….next week is a prolific passing attack. But….only if they NEED it. Still have a couple of games after that agains two very good SEC Teams in Mizzou & Carolina….bith of whom are playing "grown man football" right now. Need the W's….not the yards.
Never show your hand untill the chips are down. That's not for a month or so, anyway. Lol….lets not panic over Statistics that don't matter to anybody but the gamblers and media gum-runners. That's how they quantify success….cause they don't understand the rest. Guess they forgot about the scoreboard. Lol
Go Dawgs!!!!
@BigDawg61I'll buy what you're selling for now. I hope you are right. But that Auburn games leave cracks in that deal. We both want the same thing so go Dawgs.
Is there a way to get the stats for the UF vs Ole Miss game ? I’m being serious. If I understand right Baugh gashed them to pieces on the ground. IF that’s the case I Believe our Dawgs can do Even Better by committee with Phillips leading the way !!
Frazier seems to be back or very close to 100%. Walker is certainly no slouch. Throw enough passes to keep Em from crowding the LOS and beat them to pieces Running the ball !! Phillips with blazing speed. Frazier with decent speed and hard to tackle. And Walker is like trying to tackle a fire plug !! Plus you never know when Gunner is gonna take off !!
Number One thing Protect the football !! No turnovers !! And if our Defense can play like they did tonight, Bingo !! You got another Dawgs win !! Chambliss is a big dude gotta wrap up on him when you tackle him, but Chris Cole among others will introduce him to the turf !!
It’s gonna be a big battle at their house but I’ve got good vibes about it !! This same UF team beat them 52-27 !! Our Dawgs can to !!
The numbers don’t lie.
Using 10-plus yards as “long run,” Mike Bobo called another run after four of Georgia’s five long runs:
Long run
Next play
Gunner Stockton, 12 yards
Incomplete short pass to Nate Frazier
Stockton, 17 yards
Bo Walker run for 5
Dwight Phillips, 15 yards
Landon Roldan run for 5
Phillips, 26 yards
Frazier run for 9
Frazier, 13 yards
Walker run for 3
So the clear tendency was: explosive run, then run again—80% of the time. Every long run by a running back was immediately followed by another run.
That reinforces the larger concern: Florida had little reason to anticipate an immediate play-action shot after Georgia’s ground game displaced the defense. The one exception was after Stockton’s first 12-yard run—and even that was a short throw toward Frazier, not an aggressive downfield counter.
Classic Bobo ball.
Kudos to the Defense for a really great game. Kinda helped out an offense that wasn't running on all eight at times. I have tried many screem passes. Is it just because it is a fast throw with little vulnerability or is it because we seem to have trouble throwing over the middle on slants? Have we now decided that we need to run Stockton more than normal or is that his call? Some quirky calls here and there and another almost disastrous punt field. Got some more big games coiming so we need to polish up our act a bit but a well deserved win for the Dawgs.
Gunner hasn’t played well because Gunner has one of the worst play callers in America. Someone close to Kirby needs to open his eyes. Blind loyalty to an incompetent play caller is going to result in a fourth straight year where we do not even sniff the NC game. We all know it’s true. We are insanely going along with this like it’s going to produce a different result. IT’S NOT! We’ve all lived this under this OC for too many years to count now. The Dawgs went back to back with an elite OC. We will never, NEVER win a NC with this playcaller. We’ll all be back on here griping and complaining in a month and a half after we inexplicably lose to someone we are better than because we have a playcaller who honestly needs to be working at the high school level. Mike bobo is, indeed, Kirby’s Willie Martinez.
Thanks for the insight, there…"Coach".
Have you applied for the job yet? Lolol….you seem to have the answer to a problem that doesn't exist.
Football…..is a "Team Sport". Execution of a set of plays by 11 players….to reach your opponent's endzone [score points].
Nobody gets a dang thang for yards through the air….Lol. You don't call plays that will expose you to turnovers & penalties….unless it is necessary.
When you are sitting on an increasing lead and moving the ball on the ground….with your defense playing lights out….against a Rival in a Neutral Site Game….AND….you are winning the turnover battle………
WHY?…..Would YOU expose your team to the turnover animal or give the referees more opportunities to change the momentum…or expose your valuable WR's to injury…...with the Game already in-hand.
Just sayin'….the game was won by the end of the 1st quarter….and, it was obvious…imo.
Go Dawgs!!! Keep on Grinding it out baby….they can't keep up with that. Lol
Moral of yesterday's story….
Lolol…..Great CFB Season!! Imo. You can Throw about thirty teams in a hat….to find 11 Teams to compete with UGA for the Trophy.
No telling who's gonna be there, besides the Dawgs. Nobody is playing at their level….CONSISTENTLY. And, Consistency is the Key. Besides Team Health, that is.
Go get em you Hairy Brutes. Run over their asses to get what's yours. They cheated you out of at least one opportunity….don't give em a way to do it again.
