ATLANTA — Kirby Smart knows Georgia left some plays on the field offensively.

I don’t understand the special teams C. Sure, that field goal was bad, but nothing past that. You can’t knock White-Helton for that punt; it wasn’t a muff. Smart defended it, as is written, but it’s not clarified HOW he defended it. If SWH hadn’t grabbed it, there’s a big chance it would have ended up at the 1, not as a touchback. Is it better to be at the 10 or the 1? I’ll take those 9 yards on a “muff” any day.
This nonsense of rating the Tight Ends low because of production is just plain $tupid. I have no idea what your hatred of this position group is because this is every week but you don’t seem to understand, you can’t catch what isn’t thrown. And when it is thrown, they pretty much always catch, unless being held.
And multiple articles keep dinging Humpheys on drops when the fact is, the first was a not great pass that was a bit behind him. Catchable? Yes. Easy? No. The second was a high throw that the defender knocked loose on a good play. That is not a drop.
Like others, hard to see a C - on Tight Ends as they were nearly invisible on the play calls. Nearly the same for wide receivers. How are they going to catch balls that aren't thrown?
I was wondering if all the TEs got suspended for the game! I’m not a real Bobo hater by any means, but I can’t imagine having weapons like that TE room and not wanting to use them.
Yeah the score doesn't reflect reality. Florida beat themselves and we took advantage. Special Teams is concerning: Woodring must be getting in his head and it's pour coaching fail when a returner tries to field a slow bouncing kick.
It's cliche but Bobo really should get blamed for offense. When your a QB runs are predictable and your plays generic it shows in your stats.
We needed the week off, but as we often do - offense was rusty and sloppy and that falls on offense staff.
Defense Coordinator A+ Offensive Coordinator D
Not using the TEs and all the short passes. This game should have been a blowout. Run the rock baby!!!
Here we go again. Like many of you, Gunner is one of my favorites , but if opportunities to filter in our other QBs present themselves, we should take them. Ryan P. is quite talented and we may need him to step in sometime. It would be good if he had more quality experience. Quarterbacks are somewhat like MLB pitchers, even great ones have off nights. The coaches have to recognize and adjust if needed.
I totally agree that we aren't using those great TEs effectively. I kept watching Elyiss only leading the blocking, not being targeted for 10yd passes. Pretty big target, as well as his speed and physicality may allow him to make big plays.
Go Dawgs!!!
Yep. Grade C for the offense. Defense wins Championships - like our NC in '21 - and may have to do it again this season if we can keep guys off the injury list. I predict one more loss this season unless the offense wakes up and starts performing like they did against Bama. Yes, we need both units working in tandem to win a National Championship.
Is Bobo the problem? I don't think so honestly.
He called a brilliant game against Bama, which was also the last game where our offense showed up and clicked as one unit. Yesterday was back to too many ineffective screen plays and Gunner looking hesitant. Execution is as important as the play calling, and we certainly had plenty of blown opportunities through gifted turnovers that we struggled to take full advantage of. Against Auburn, Ole Miss racked up 487 yards of offense, 224 yards on the ground, and all without Lacey. Dawgs managed just 318 yards of offense, 217 yards on the ground. I think we'll have to play much better on offense to win in Oxford, even if our D shows up in full force again.
Mike BOBO = F- , worst play caller to ever call games for the Dawgs. Surely we can do better than that. Please get rid of this garbage OC. We have a very talented team and is wasting every bit of it with his incompetence. We will never win another natty because of his play calls. Just horrible.
Bobo has had a pretty good season, thus far. There were a few plays where receivers were open downfield. But, yesterday does remind us all of his history in Athens, which ain't great. I don't agree with several posters who said maybe Kirby was holding back in preparation for Ole Miss (although I totally understand that thought process). No good coach is going to hold something back that might put this week's win at risk. And Kirby isn't only a good coach, he's a great one. I do think that Kirby's game plan was to stop Florida's run game and make them one dimensional on offense (he said that at halftime), not turn the ball over, and run the ball on offense. He knew that would win the game, so that's what we did. Not saying it's not frustrating to see potential points left out there and know the game was closer than the score indicated. But, Ole Miss will require a different game plan for the Dawgs, and I think Kirby will have one.
@UGACC…our best offensive showing against good competition this season was against Bama, and last season it was against Ole Miss during the regular season. Common themes in both - good use of our TEs, spreading the ball around to different players in different ways, and an aggressive offense racking up almost 500 yards against Ole Miss and 455 yards against Bama.
What I saw yesterday was none of that and a very out- of-sync hesitant, less confident Gunner Stockton. So goes Gunner…so goes our offense.
Gunner: D. Did his girlfriend break up with him? Injured (still)? He’s off no matter the excuses KS makes for his last two performances. If he can’t pass down the field, Pug needs to replace him. Otherwise teams will load the box, Gunner will be concussed and the RBs will get injured.
Bobo: F. What in the world was that?
Good to see Frazier starting to regain form. The defense played well, but FL played like a high school team on offense. Completely incompetent.
Stick with me here. I was in 10th grade playing on the Varsity baseball squad and had not struck out in our first 15 games. I was being complemented so much as a tough guy to strike out, I didn’t even realize my batting average was below the Mendoza line. My point is this: I believe Gunner is so worried about sacks, interceptions, losses, etc. that he is afraid of making some high risk throws. He’s got the run “swag” but if he does not develop passing “swag” the Dawgs are going to end up with 2 or 3 losses and outside of the CFP.
Defense Wins Championships.
We didn't need much offense. We scored plenty of points compared with what we needed to score. Our running game was plenty good; our offensive line opened holes and the running backs and quarterback ran through them. We needed very little in the passing game.
The Dawgs can improve. Sure they can. However anytime we cruise to a victory over Florida, I'm happy. Actually, I'm happy if we win by one point in an úgly game. The Dawgs who totally annihilated the Gators are currently focused on playing even better as the season goes on.
Go, Dawgs!
FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS HOLY… THROW TO THE TIGHT ENDS !!! It's baffling with all that talent ….
