Kirby Smart has won in every SEC stadium he has coached in except for Ole Miss' Vaught Hemingway Stadium, where the Bulldogs will play on Saturday night.

Ole Miss ran up more than 200 yards of rushing WITHOUT Lacey yesterday, so I don' t think they necessarily need him. Chambliss is a one- man show.
Our best offensive showing against good competition this season was against Bama, and last season it was against Ole Miss during the regular season. Common themes in both - good use of our TEs, spreading the ball around to different players in different ways, and an aggressive offense racking up almost 500 yards against Ole Miss and 455 yards against Bama.
What I saw yesterday (and somewhat against Auburn) was none of that and yesterday specifically a very out- of-sync, hesitant, less confident Gunner Stockton. So goes Gunner…so goes our offense.
If our Dawgs D shows up again BIG, and our offense plays like it is capable of playing then it could be a Dawgs beatdown in Oxford. I vote for that!
Fact check,
Kirby Smart has not won in LSU stadium during his time as Georgia head coach.
The statement about Kirby Smart has won in every SEC stadium he has led Georgia into over past 10.5 seasons at some point is a great line to say…. But, because I was at the lsu game in 2018, unfortunately I cannot forget that humbling let down game. We have not been back to avenge that loss unfortunately.
(I’m not talking about teams like Oklahoma and Texas A and M that we haven’t been to yet, because the quote accounts for that by saying only teams that he has led Georgia into.)
@UGApaintlineAlumni Caught it and updated — and there's 3 SEC stadiums Kirby hasn't coached in — I added the list
Kirby finally got the win at bama. Now it’s time to get the W in Oxford. If the defense keeps the same intensity they had yesterday, that will give Georgia a chance. However, if the same offense we saw yesterday shows up in Oxford, it’ll be a long night. Go Dawgs!
Georgia has to fix the Stockton problem. He has not been himself the last 2 weeks. Very tentative, very unsure of himself. I don't know if he has an undisclosed injury - Smart did mention his shoulder injury after the Auburn game. Could that be it? Or could there be more? His poor decision making on plays lead me to think something else is up. Even when he ran against Florida, it was not the same Stockton. Something is up and it smells! He is going to have to be at his BEST against Chambliss or it will be a hard road ahead. If our defense falters at all, it could require a shoot out, and I don't think we are ready for that!
Favored by 3.5 points? It's a night game in Oxford which favors the Rebels I would think. In the past three meetings UGA is 1-2. Nov. 9th, 2024, in Oxford, the Rebels dominated that game in a 28-10 win.
Oct. 18th, 2025, UGA won 43-35 in Athens. Difference in that game: TEs were targeted at least 10 times for 85 yards and 3 TDs. The defense held Ole Miss scoreless in the 4th quarter. Jan. 1st, 2026, UGA lost 39-34 in the Sugar Bowl during the College Football Playoff (CFP). Had a chance at the end just didn't work out. Ole Miss is dynamic and explosive on offense. They tend to play better in the second half of games. Question is can UGA match it. Think they can. We will see….
Surprising line. Dawgs can definitely win but Gunner or whoever will have to complete some down field passes throughout the game.
Not trying to open up a can of Bobo bashing, but I sure would like to see Lawson Luckie get targeted more. Looks like only three TE targets in that game unless I missed others.
Go, Dawgs!
I keep reading that Gunner did not have a good game, was out of sync, etc. To an extent I guess that could be true. But, I am still bewildered by all the attempted runs up the middle by Gunner , especially down at the goal line. Isn’t Gunner running the plays Bobo is sending down to him or am I missing something? I am not nor have I ever been a fan of Bobo’s play calling. It seems to me he gets too conservative when we need to control the game. Is it play calling or is Gunner not executing plays properly? I would love to know what’s going on because our level of play on offense has to improve or this will be another early exit from the playoffs, if we even make it there. Besides Mississippi looming next weekend, South Carolina is playing very solid now as well. Go Dawgs!
Great headline. Talk about give Ole Miss bulletin board material.
UF 52- Ole Miss 27. If the mud lizards beat them that badly ( mainly by Running the ball they had 300 yds. rushing with Baugh as primary) then our Dawgs can by RB Committee. Much of the game will Not be on Stockton. All he needs to do is protect the football and make the short to intermediate passes. Basically One Man ( Baugh) beat the gators. Can we not do that with Phillips, Frazier, Walker and possibly Bowens ?
Can the Dawgs defense not match the UF defense in stopping Chambliss ?
As it’s a home game for Ole Miss I expect it to be a Much More difficult game for our Dawgs than it was for UF. But I’m gonna Believe in our Dawgs !! I’m gonna Believe that the Dawgs get the W and primarily through Running the ball. If our Defense can come close to matching their effort vs. UF then our Dawgs win in a very tight game. One Big proviso of concern is Woodring. We need him to break what ever is nagging him and get back to being the Woodring we all know and love.
All Gunner need do is not turn the ball over and make the short to intermediate passes or the majority of them. He doesn’t need to be Tom Brady for this game. In fact if he can pick up some yards with his legs that would be a bonus.
Just my opinions but take a hard look at that score of UF vs Ole Miss. It tells you they have problems stopping the run. Our Dawgs on the other hand pretty much stopped Baugh cold. Containing Chambliss will be the biggest challenge and I Believe the Dawgs defense are up to it. Go Dawgs !!
Dawgs at Ole Miss: My Prediction — 31-27 Dawgs
I'm giving the Dawgs a 55% chance Saturday night. But I'm more interested in how we play than simply whether we win.
Ole Miss is allowing 24 points and nearly 384 yards per game. Their defense is vulnerable, and there's no reason we shouldn't move the football.
My concern remains our lack of offensive explosiveness. Too many long, methodical drives that require near-perfect execution. One penalty or negative play and we're punting. Against quality opponents, that's a dangerous formula.
I want to see Bobo stretch the field early, establish the run without becoming predictable, and produce explosive plays. Defensively, containing Chambliss, especially on third down, is critical.
I think this is a defining game for Mike Bobo. If we can't put up 30 points against this Ole Miss defense, serious questions remain about our offensive ceiling. We have the talent. The question is whether our offensive scheme consistently puts that talent in position to succeed.
I expect a close game, with our defensive depth making the difference late.
Dawgs 31, Ole Miss 27.
A win keeps 11-1 alive. But winning with an explosive, balanced offense would tell me a lot more about our championship potential.
We know the Dawgs can win games. Saturday should tell us whether this offense can help win a national championship.
Go Dawgs.
It will be interesting to see whether the Dawgs are more explosive on offense.
I'm sure you know there is a downside risk to an aggressive passing game.
Our offensive line did a great job of run blocking against Florida. We were close to having a number of highly explosive runs. I don't know much about Ole Miss's run defense other than how they performed (or didn't) against Florida's run game. It might be that we have an explosive offense against Ole Miss, an explosive run game!
Just because we don't use an explosive passing game doesn't mean we don't have one. Whether we use it or not depends whether we need to use it and it depends on what the defense gives us. Did Florida stretch the field when they played Ole Miss?
5 of the Dawgs last 7 games are/were against Ranked SEC opponents. And, Auburn could've easily been the 6th…imo. Who saw that coming in July? "Easy schedule", my ass!!
If UGA makes it out without another loss…Great!!!
But, if they stumble against one of those very talented and now "experienced" final 3 in the gauntlet….it's definitely not the end of their world. And could propel them to the Championship. Afterall…we know Kirby can squeeze more Juice out of a loss than anybody in CFB.
Ole Miss won't be one of the Teams they lose to…imo. Kirby owes em a little Payback….Lol. Plus……
IF….The Dawgs are going to lose one of their last 3….I would prefer it NOT be Ole Miss. If Ole Miss wins vs UGA…they would more likely than not…finish the year with an identical 7-2 SEC record to the Dawgs. Giving them the SECCG tie breaker…and a probable edge in the CFP.
I don't know what Kirby Smart is thinking….but, he has a tendency to allow a game, to get uncomfortably close toward the end of the Season…to make an impression on his team. Even though they could throw the ball all over the field and score through the air at-will sometimes….Ground game, Defense, Physicality and Resilience…Wins Championships.
If the players don't have their mind right…and, i think they Do…Kirby will make a strong impression in one of the next 3 games. If they're a finished product….UGA will Walk-the-Dawg all the way to the Natty with a grin on their faces. Lol
Go get em boys. 3 tough games ahead….but, the competition is tenderized and marinated. All you gotta do is chomp down and lock your jaws….they aint goin' nowhere but home if ya do that. Lmao….I know Gator didn't fill you up. Lol
The book would tell you that long drives are more problematic. You have to execute flawlessly on almost every play to convert a score, especially a TD. Have you noticed that the pros don't rely on long drive philosophy? It's for a reason. That's why passing QBs go high in the draft. That's why Gunner will go low, maybe late rounds, even. The pros try to avoid running the QB because of the higher likelihood of injury. Gunner's running chops won't help him in the pros.
Kirby has told us that he's not interested in results—he's more interested in improvement.
I really don't know what he means. Sounds like a kumbaya moment to me.
