Kirby Smart has won in every SEC stadium he has coached in except for Ole Miss' Vaught Hemingway Stadium, where the Bulldogs will play on Saturday night.

Run sets up the pass.
I very much enjoyed the recent debate in this thread. Arguments clearly expressed, and, in my opinion, for this forum, quite respectful of the other side's point of view.
Go, Dawgs!
No apologies required. I respect your comments. And you might well be right. I’ve been wrong so many times that I’m good at being wrong ! 🤣 It’s just us sharing our opinions. In the end we Dawgs fans all want the same thing and that’s for our beloved Dawgs to Win and Win allot more !! Go Dawgs !!
Here's the thing….and, i'm confident Kirby and most coaches would back me up on this……
It doesn't matter….if you know that i'm running the ball or passing the ball….Because the "team" is trained to execute the play. And, they practice that against the opponents defense all week.
i.e. Bennett ran Oklahoma's Offense as Baker Mayfield in 2017 on the "practice squad". He was given a lot of credit for preparing UGA's defense for Baker. Imagine what could've happen if they weren't ready for him. Lol
Player for player….The Dawgs outrank every team they play, this year…imo. Nobody's gonna beat em man-to-man. The only way your gonna beat UGA….is to get them to beat themselves. With turnovers, untimely penalties, blown coverages, special teams snafu's….etc..
UGA's not sneaking up on anybody…..or tricking them. They get everybody's best shot more times than not. The Dawgs are just gonna look you in the eye and tell you what they're gonna do….and, dare you to stop it.
IMO…..That's how they roll these days. They aint foolin' anybody…..just playing good solid football. Besides the Auburn Game, that is. They beat themselves in that one.
Fyi….Auburn played the Dawgs…AFTER a Bye Week.
UGA played Auburn….AFTER an extremely physical Rivalry Game vs Alabama….@AUB.
Auburn played Ole Miss….AFTER an extremely physical Rivalry Game with UGA….@Ole Miss
See the correlation. You need to look at everything…including the weather…to do a true comparrison. And in this case….there's not much help there. Just sayin'.
Bottom line is….the Dawgs have a tough night game ahead. Ground game with solid defense would be the preferred approach, i think….due to the lights. BUT….don't underestimate Stockton's ability to run an aerial attack.
Imo….Stockton's got the talent & all the tools around him, to succeed. If they go that way.
Go Dawgs!!!
Oh yeah….one more thang….Bama lost….AFTER an extremely physical game with UGA….@UGA.
Imo….It matters who you play the week before, the type of game that was played….and, how banged up you are, coming out of that game.
So….after some consideration….Kirby may try to put this one away early, so he can get some of his #1's off the field by the 2nd half.
I am now a YES on going aerial vs Ole Miss….cause Mizzou & Carolina line up to be potentially…."Very Physical".
You can't play every game, the same way (with extra-physicality), in the SEC. You wouldn't have enough players to line up a "good" team at the end of the year, if you did.
So this could be the one for gunslingin'….to save the offensive physicality, for Mizzou.
The assumption is….that you are playing your very best in every Rep. If that's true….how do we make you better. Cause…….
"Better never rests"_____Kirby Smart.
That's what i think it means.
You're confusing superior talent with superior strategy. Having better players doesn't mean you should make their jobs harder by telling the defense what's coming.
If predictability didn't matter, why would coaches bother with play-action, motion, misdirection, or disguising coverages? Those aren't gimmicks. They're fundamental tools for creating mismatches and exploiting defensive weaknesses.
And your argument that nobody can beat the Dawgs man-to-man doesn't survive the Auburn game. Auburn outrushed us 192-113. That's a 79-yard advantage on the ground. Turnovers and penalties hurt us, absolutely, but you can't dismiss getting physically beaten at the line of scrimmage as simply "beating ourselves."
Against Alabama, Stockton completed four explosive passes for 129 yards while the Dawgs rushed for 206. That's what happens when a defense has to respect both threats.
Nobody's arguing against physical football. We're arguing for making superior talent even more dangerous through intelligent play-calling.
There's a difference between imposing your will on a defense and making its job easier.
The great offenses don't just dare you to stop them. They make you defend everything, then punish whatever you leave vulnerable.
Execution wins plays. Strategy creates advantages. Championship offenses require both.
Go Dawgs.
When is the best time to go deep? After a long run. After 80% of the long runs against Florida, we ran the ball. That's gotta change against OM.
We gotta fix this.
Not sure what YOU mean.
Improvement is a worthy goal but nothing without results.
Kina like saying "We tried our best" after a loss.
"Kina like saying "We tried our best" after a loss."_____dawgfromILM
Okay.? I have no problem with a loss…as long as they leave it all on the field and "play their best". What's wrong with that? Lol….somebody has to lose….as long as it's a "good death" (tic). And….it doesn't become a habit.
When 2 Titans clash….like UGA vs BAMA….no matter who wins or loses…the consequences are the same. They were both beat all to hell and it cost em the next week. Fyi….Auburn was coming off a Bye week…..While Tennessee's previous week was a slow dance with Arkansas. Essentially a Bye Week. Lolol
Both Bama & UGA faced rested, prepared SEC Teams the following week. They don't have the advantage of a BIG10/12, or ACC/ND Schedule. There's a battle, every week with this new 9 Game SEC Schedule. A loss here or there…should be expected.
While being undefeated is obviously a Goal….the ultimate Goal is the Natty. Sometimes the best route between point A & point B…isn't a straight line. Chess….not checkers. UGA will win the Natty this year….with or without another loss.
The CFP Committee agrees, btw….that game between Bama & UGA, cost em both, in their next game. Nobody gigged Bama for losing to UGA….then, they used the UGA Game to justify their loss to Tennessee. Lol…how 'bout 'dat?.
Hmm….Two losses, counts as "one"….cause it's Bama. You think the Dawgs would get that kind of consideration if the losses were reversed?. Lol….hell no.
