Georgia offensive coordinator Mike Bobo shared why the Bulldogs need to keep things simple at Ole Miss and could run Gunner Stockton more.

”We’ve got to simplify some things ”. I’m afraid to see what that looks like after the last game. I guess that means going from 2 plays (bubble screens and QB draws) to running Gunner until he breaks? I’d rather see us run our RBs 40 times than see another 2 yard gain on a bubble screen.
“They don’t give up a lot of explosives,” Bobo said, “and they make you earn it.”
Okay, so go out there and earn it with the stacked TE room! These guys can give UGA a tremendous advantage over the Ole Miss defense. You have Lucky, Williams, Reddell, and Barbour who are the best in the SEC at blocking and catching. Running the ball is definitely necessary to win and I haven't read anyone disputing that on this site. But the TE threat in the flat or over the middle can make that running game even more effective (and vise versa). I'm ready to see these guys get some action and I'm sure they are too, but I'm not sure Ole Miss is ready for them!

All will be well, I called CMB and instructed him to run the ball. With passes over the middle to our TEs. I also told him to send Dandridge deep down field and try to get behind defenders. Same with Taylor. CMB agreed and said my check would be in the mail !! Please, please Yall stop the applause you’re embarrassing me !! 🤣 Got some chemical waste dump land I’ll sell ya if you believe that sea story !! 😂
Both teams are different now. Georgia has a much better defense than last season, their head coach and OC are at Lsu now. Their offense isn't as potent as it was a year ago. Chambliss can still cause us problems, but if our defense can play like it did last Saturday, the Dawgs should win.
Our defense beat the chambliss led ole miss offense during the regular season last year. I'm not sure why that keeps being forgotten. We played beat up and after a VERY long gap in the playoffs so no, I do not equate them as the same. I am confident our D will show up and our offense will take care of business and the playoffs will be a lost dream for the rebels. But on the plus for them, they can get a good seat in front of the television for the CFP.
Sounds like Bobo has his work cut out for him, and the team has theirs, but isn't that what it's supposed to be. Big Boy Football!

Amen zoomsuperfly. Run the ball. Throw it to the TEs. Take some shots down the field. But, dear lord, spare us of all the poorly designed screens. Dawg fans should be able to set a limit on dodo screen calls. He gets 4 a game max. Crazy what a joke this has become with dawg fans. Maddening at times.

Lord knows, every fan, lots of UGA administration, most of the media, and even some politicians have tried to get UGA TE usage up to where it should be… perhaps your late night call will finally do the trick!

Seriously, though, this seems l clear enough that the multimillion dollar coaches must all see it if we do. My hope? They were being held back from Florida just for moments like this, where we will absolutely need them. My biggest concern? The plays are actually being called, but Gunner may either not be seeing them or choosing not to use them due to pressure.

@navydawg I can live without the deep shots down field, but they are necessary on occasion so the opponents will consider it a threat. I'm content with a slow and methodical march down the field with a 5- or 7-yard run, an 11 yard pass to a TE, mix in a 20- yard pass to a WR and so on as they rack up first downs until they end up at the other end of the field where Frazier, Phillips, or Stockton hits his head on the goal post for 6 more points. It's even better if each drive takes 8 minutes off the clock and Trinidad Chambliss has to watch it all happen from the sidelines. Keeping him on the sidelines is a very effective method of stopping him!
I understand Georgia wants to run the ball. What are they doing to set that up? Throwing bubble screens is not going to do it. Teams usually run play-action plays to set up the deep ball. I think Bobo offense doesn't attack the middle of the field much. The offense doesn't take advantage of DBs' cushion with slants, and the offense does not look creative enough to cause a defense to play honest. You very seldom see a different look confused playing against a Georgia offense or out of place. The other team's defense plays fast because things look simple facing the Georgia offense. Kirby can see the other team's schemes well, but not every team. Also, if that's the case, why aren't we scheming well against other teams' offenses?

Gotta give Chambliss his due, he is a very, very good QB. But I Believe our Defense can restrain him. CMB and Gunner need to power us to a Win !!
Totally Agree !! You know the thing with CMB is at times he can be brilliant. Masterful play calling. But when he gets fixated on something that’s not working he gets the strange mentality of “ If I try it just one more time they’ll never see it coming”. No Coach Bobo !! No !! If it’s not working it’s Not working. Move on to something else. Heck try a flea flicker that’d be better than another bubble screen pass !! And as I understand it there’s no such thing as red shirts anymore. Put Prothro in the game and throw it to him over the middle. But many Dawgs fans here including myself speculate that it’s because he’s not got his blocking skills up to Kirby’s standards. Though KS knows far more than I ever have or will the “you don’t play unless your an elite blocker” thing frustrates me !! Prothro is a Big kid with nice soft hands. He can catch balls like an elite WR when he’s on his game. Please Use Him !! And not trying to bash on Sacovie White-Helton but I’ll be glad when Tyriq Green is back !! He’s very fast and elusive. And he fields the ball clean on punt returns. Sacovie can still be used at WR. I’m just scared Sacovie is gonna muff one to many and give the rival points. I’ll call Kirby tonight……….. and listen to the dial tone when he hangs up on me !! 😂 Go Dawgs beat Ole Miss !!
Fire Bobo, fire coach Smart for having confidence in Bobo, fire all those folks who voted for Bobo as top coordinator in all of college football last couple of seasons. Let’s clean house and start over.
Play action should be there for Gunner, as Ole Miss run defense is not good. I think everyone will be happy after this one.
