Untapped offensive potential has been the MO at UGA for a long time 1-4k yard passer in a season ever! 1!!! No 1k yard receiver in 24 years and only 1 in school history! No one has ever caught 100 passes in a season. Jackson Meeks transfers to Syracuse in 2024 and catches 88 passes for 1183 yards, 88 catches would be a single season record at UGA. Last 1k yard rusher was 2019, and not going to happen this year either!!
Yeah…he didn't look right with his mechanics. I was wondering, if maybe thaAuburn shoulder injury isn't still nagging him a bit.
Hopefully, it's just a short term tweak. We'll find out this week. That's for sure. I'm thinking, Kirby & Bobo would probably rather Pass Block vs Ole Miss, giving the O-Line a little break…and, bring the running game and physicality to the Mizzou Game.
If UGA goes with a passing attack…i expect a "bend-don't-break…havoc seeking style of Defense. Which i know frustrates a lot of Fans….especially, when they're short on " havoc". Lol…but, that's football.
I look forward to the next 3 Games. Mizzou & SC are very physical, innovating Teams. Guarantee you…they bring the heat, when they play the Dawgs.
Got get em boys. This is the Year of the Dawg!!!
@UGADad20 I agree, with such a high percentage of kick returns being called back with penalties it's not worth the risk of trying to return it!
Lmao….And yet….they still find a way to WIN? What's up with that?!
UGA has stacked Playmakers at every position…"because"….they spread the ball around. Everybody gets a rep. That exposure…on a Team like UGA….is enough to gain an invite to the League if you apply yourself and "do the work".
Which is what most of the kids Kirby recruits, desire. Individual Stats and accolades are NOT important in the grand scheme of things. It's about stacking quality reps on film….and winning battles. If you do that….the trophies will come.
No one player will ever be so big a part of the UGA offense, that the Dawgs are severly hampered if they lose em…ala, OSU and Sayin. They aren't running out of the Old Dooley Veer or Power I, anymore….and, imo…there would be No Herschel Walker without the "I Formation". Lol…jk.
Go Dawgs!!!
The Dawgs have played 8 games….averaging 41 ppg, 5.25 TD's pg, holding opponents to 14.8 ppg, 2 TD's pg…Mr Connelly, I'll take my "Dawg stats" against your "fumble stats" everyday of the week and twice on Sunday……GOOOOOOOOOO DAWGS, SICEM, WOOF, WOOF, WOOF!
Why is there a discussion/comments about fumbles? Offensively, there is no fix. No player wants to fumble.
Right!? It would be different if only one player fumbled eight times.
But, like the reps…….The carries and fumbles get spread around too. Rather than a trend….I see a wild point. Due, mainly to a beat up backfield, an injured Stockton (shoulder; early Auburn Game) & wet ball.
It hasn't been an issue, till now..…so i expect Bobo to "get a handle on it" (tic). Lol.
Well, you keep drinking the cool-aid. Walt Disney will send you a Christmas card!
I have absolutely nothing personal against SWH. We can still use him at WR. But I’ll be glad when Tyriq Green is back 100% healthy. And sure hope KS will use him at punt and kick returns. He’s got very, very good speed and is elusive carrying the ball as well. Actually I think he’d make a great WR !! But KS wants him on defense which was/is his natural position from HS.
As has been mentioned I’m bewildered at the lack of use of Prothro ?? Must be he’s not yet mastered blocking to Kirby’s acceptable level. Shame because he has very good speed for his size, got great hands, and hard to bring down due to his size. But Kirby sees these guys every day in practice so gotta trust his decisions.
If our Dawgs don’t turn the ball over they will beat Ole Miss in a battle royal !! I think it’s gonna be close but the Dawgs will win. NEED Woodring to regain his confidence and get back to being his old reliable self. Yall know by my many comments I love Gunner like he’s my son. But something is wrong with him. I think he’s playing hurt. I think the trainers ask him are you OK ? And he says Sure I Am !
Yes it’s wrong for him to do that, but he has a warrior nature. Confessing to being in pain To Him is like cowardice. I’m Not saying it IS cowardice I’m saying For Him not other players he’d feel he’s letting the team down by saying he’s in pain.
I don’t know. All I know is I sure hope he’s back Fully to himself vs Ole Miss and beyond. There’s been numerous, numerous comments on here about him being “strange” after that tackle vs Auburn where he landed on his head and neck. I was terrified when that happened I thought for a split second he had broke his neck !! Scored 14 easy points and THEN IT happened and it’s like he’s not been the same since. It’s not a lack of courage as we’ve seen him charge right into the teeth of the defense since then.
I don’t know. All I know is I sure Hope the old Gunner will be back starting at Ole Miss. When he’s “On” ( his old self) Gunner is a very, very good QB. I’m not gonna get into comparisons with rival teams QBs. All I’m saying is when he’s his old self he’s good for the Dawgs. And very capable of winning any game with the WRs, TEs, RBs, and O Line he has supporting him. So what ever the problem is for the Dawgs sake, His sake, and we the Fans sake I sure hope the problem vanishes this week. Go Dawgs beat Ole Miss !!
great fumble stat suggestion tad the bogart. I’d like to recommend another obscure facts category if I may, definitely offsides vs borderline offsides vs clearly not offsides. And yes, Tyler Simmons was clearly not offsides 😂
Ok, that’s all I got, you vote down and off top aficionados have a happy hunting day, cheers. Go pups
What happened to the old adage if the punt is going to land inside the 10yard line you let it go? And what I would like to see SWH do is a better job of doing is running up to make the catch before it bounces. Generally if the punt is short of where he is standing he doesn't make an attempt to catch it in the air.
KS is the same coach who has benched promising RBs for a fumble or two. I think he’s upped his Lexapro recently.
Boom…..mic drop and Elvis has left the building!!!!!
