Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Re: Next To Commit To The G 2020
This is Jeff Sentell's current list of top ten. Including Jared Zirkel about which I hear a lot of blue shirt talk Georgia has 16 commits at this time and there are somewhere from 23 to 25 spots open. The darn NCAA and the SEC has this rule of only 25 a year and 85 at any one time. There are some where around 15-16 seniors… -
Re: Next To Commit To The G 2020
So I think we all agree that the 85 scholarship limit applies at all times, so blue shirts, red shirts, black shirts, pink shirts, and camo shirts are irrelevant to that number. Thus, blue shirts are only relevant for the 25/yr limit. If that is the case, I thought grad transfers (or any D1 transfers for that matter) did… -
Re: Next To Commit To The G 2020
But you let him be the one to ask for a position change. Which is why I said “try to prove himself as a WR and let him realize for himself that it either is or isn’t in his best interest” If he can be a good enough WR in our system to see the field, then more power to him. I want him in this 2020 class bad, but I don’t… -
Re: Next To Commit To The G 2020
As we sit TODAY (2019 Roster) of the 85 IMO we need 1 additional OL, 2 add WR and 1 too many each at DL/OLB, ILB and DB. These are position players only (doesn't include 2 scholly kickers). The "need" is with the loss of the players who will be out of eligibility. Any early draftees and/or transfers would need to be… -
Re: Next To Commit To The G 2020
I am not a smart man, but I was decent at math... you sign 25 a year... That's a roster of 100... you can only have 85 at a time... Some guys leave early, some guys get hurt (attrition the old fashioned way...) Some guys transfer in, some guys portal in (I enjoyed typing that...) That means some guys gotta leave - they… -
Re: Next To Commit To The G 2020
We currently sit at 86 committed scholarships so we need to "lose" at least 1 by the time that Freshmen report at the beginning of June. Of the 86, 16 are in their final year of eligibility so in order to sign 24 we need 8 more to leave prior to their eligibility expiring (9 total including the 1 pre-June). I think that… -
Re: Next To Commit To The G 2020
The problem in "scoring" our 2020 class is not only who do we get but how many? There is definitely 1 spot left but beyond that questions remain. Did Zirkel sign a NLI and regular FAA or did he sign a FAA and is going to be a PWO until January which would allow him to play 2020 but count against 2021 class (note: a Gray… -
Re: Next To Commit To The G 2020
Current status on scholarships: As you can see the 85 is not going to be an issue with 5 spots still available after including 21 current signers/commits for 2020. I still expect 2/3 more entering the portal or declaring for the draft. Therefore the issue becomes the Initials (25). With 2 used for 2019 (Cager and Wolf) the… -
Re: Next To Commit To The G 2020
Great find. comments below 15.02.3.1 Initial Counter. [FBS/FCS] An "initial counter" is a counter who is receiving countable financial aid in a sport for the first time. (See Bylaw 15.5.6.3 in football for instances in which the institution is permitted to defer the counting of such financial aid until the following… -
Re: Next To Commit To The G 2020
You are correct - it was mentioned but the only proposal I could find for the NCAA spring meeting covers early declarers and medical DQ players being allowed to be replaced. Page 23 to 25 address initials but 23 is the main one Title: RECRUITING AND FINANCIAL AID -- LIMITATION ON NUMBER OF NATIONAL LETTER OF INTENT/OFFER…
