I'm not a fan of crying over spilt milk. Learn from your mistakes and move on.
BUT it doesn't seem Kirby learned a **** thing from his Justin Fields mistake.
Coley is gone. We have a new OC with a great track record of success. Same result. The constant input is Kirby.
Mathis is to Fields as Bennett is to Fromm. (I'm assuming Daniels is hurt. Not sure what competitive advantage we gain in Kirby's head by not saying so, but that's his MO). Despite the obvious but raw talent, there was no plan to bring Fields along and develop him throughout the year. He leaves here and has tremendous success. This should be an opportunity for self reflection and learning. But I see the same mistakes and the coach says he doesn't see the struggle.
Kirby, wake up and look in the mirror!
fans aren’t obsessed with him in general. Just viewing the situation as evidence Kirby may need to re-evaluate his qb scoring system.
Justin Fields is gone, he did what's best for him. Good for him. I hold nothing against him. He was the 1st or 2nd highest rated QB in America out of high school who chose to come and compete against Jake Fromm. He realized his talent. He could have gone anywhere else he chose. He chose UGA. He believed in himself. He fully expected(sure he was told) come and compete and if you are good enough you will start. He came and the coaching staff(whoever) didn't think that highly of him. CKS said, "he didn't show him that much in practice." Well, ladi-freakin-da. Guess who will be a 1st round pick and who gets the last laugh? It ain't CKS.
Yo all Dawg fans would you please remove the name Justin Fields from your thoughts. He is long gone to Ohio State, and good for him, he was here at UGA, for a while, but never was a true and blue, and all the way Georgia Bulldog. If so, he would still be at Athens. We are now struggling with the QB that is short in height, but has heart to play, so pray and hope that it's enough, but at the end of the season we will????
"He is playing in the big 10 lol"
He will be the 2nd QB taken in next year's draft. A for sure top 7 pick. What do you not understand? Meanwhile we are starting a walk-on QB who was told back in JUly or August by the coaching staff, they "didn't see him as being a starter" (you've got no chance). Let that sink in.

One can only dream . But can you imagine feilds with our wide receivers and rbs .. and why oh why are we not getting the ball to Washington,, I mean when he gets the ball he looks effortless,, anyway ladies and gentlemen unless Stetson is hurt and I don’t wish that on anyone ,, hate to say it but we’re stuck with him ,, hope you still have a voice from yelling at the tv after the games lol
It’s Sunday morning, and the qb we benched for Jake Fromm is the front runner for the Heisman. Let that sink in y’all. Kirby needs to reasses his qb evaluation skills. Not stirring the pot just saying “the king has no clothes”
Agreed. The guy can just never admit he was wrong. He will double and triple down to the point where only his own credibility takes a hit. He will take his opinion and write it up as fact. That's my only issue. He treats his opinions as unimpeachable facts. Does anyone still think JT Daniels looked so good he scared off Newman, but is either a) not healthy enough to play halfway through the season or b) is apparently healthy, but is the 3rd stringer? Come on! Yet the guy insists that JT scared off Newman. What's funny about that is how would anyone know that even IF it were 100 percent true? I'm sure Newman ran around telling everyone that he's leaving specifically because JT Daniels looked so good he's scared of him. Again come on. You may have had a theory, but there is zero chance you could report that as fact. Specifically because Kirby has directly said Newman was going to start.

He says the Bennett is improving. Well, I guess going from 3 interceptions to 2 IS an improvement.
I don't give a flip about the feel good story and the rest of the team probably doesn't, either. Bennett is the same guy Smart had on the Scout team and then let leave. He is also the guy that recruited or wooed the 4 and 5 star "backups". So is Smart that bad at evaluating talent or does someone have something on him?
And thank goodness we brought in "Air Raid Monken". That hire has really paid off.
So you're OK with underachieving as long as we beat our rivals? I think its perfectly fine to appreciate the wins but be critical of the losses and the why behind the losses.
Make no mistake, we should have 2 NC wins with the talent that has come through UGA the last 4 years.
Who in their right mind believes that even if Fields had stayed at UGA he would have developed like he has at Ohio St? He's putting on a show tonight.
I'm becoming convinced that it's all about the Offensive identity , philosophy and the coaching, or lack thereof.

I like Bennett, but his leash has to be getting shorter. This type of game after a bye week is not encouraging. He was staring down the receiver on the first interception and should have realized the lineman was in the way. The second interception may be the fault of a receiver who didn’t keep going, but Stet was staring him down also. EDIT: Just listened to Bennett’s interview where he claimed he was just trying to throw the ball away. He may be covering for his receiver, but if he really was trying to just get rid of it, it’s a truly horrendous pass. He could have easily sailed it over the receiver’s head out of bounds instead of throwing it along the sideline.
In fairness to Bennett, though, the run-heavy scheme didn’t let him get as much opportunity passing as he could have, and 9 for 13 isn’t bad. The interceptions concern me, though. I just hope our backup is ready when needed.
Well, unless Bennett has an epiphany along with Kirby...you can kiss the FL game good bye and the SEC East. I really worry about Mizzo now, they beat KY sort of going away.
Hey guys LeCounte received a concussion and bruised rib in a car wreck after the game today. BAD news, really bad news. I doubt he will play against FL....! What next??

Looking at Trask pick Missouri apart. We will not outscore them with Bennett at QB. Going to be a wasted season.

This is what he gets for letting Fields go. I'm watching him now mastermind against Penn St. If we had him now with or defense we are talking very good chance of Natty. Shame on on you Kirby.
Well, I'm over it. It could've been worse. At least we got a Win + SEC Win + Away and some rest for a couple of our injured guys. Tough that we had those new injuries.
The problem is that Smart is like the kid that will study his butt off to get a 'B' on a very tough class/test but then doesn't spend 5 minutes studying for that laughably easy class and winds up with a B.
So, this was our easy class. With plenty of time to "study", we got our B-. I'm not sure we brought more than one QB. You would THINK that we'd want to get a huge lead, because once you do... then, guess what? You can put in your backups and not risk starters before our biggest game of the year. You would think that you'd give your 2nd and 3rd QBs a chance to get some game experience.
Sigh. Oh well. Next week won't be as bad as people fear. Smart will bring up to the level.
Even Vanderbilt scored 21, and they have been averaging 8. I don't think JimmyBob was thrashing JT. But more if he's hurt just admit it. But I do think that because CKS doesn't say he is still hurt, then to me he is overrated. A 5* that can't beat out a walk on? You are right CKS is a huge underachieving coach. Take today, Alabama was up 20-0 at State's 40 or so. Was 4th and 1, and Saban goes for it. Didn't make it, but he is the picture of coaching to win. While Kirby is the picture of coaching not to lose.
@MikeGriffith does need to stop throwing shade on the backs. I don't care if they break runs for 30 yards or more. I would rather get 7-10 yards each run. That is demoralizing. Breaking a 60 yard td run, is more than likely just a missed tackle. When they put 8 men in the box, you better be throwing the ball on every play until they back up again. But my complaints today are many, but if just wanted to run, why not put a better running qb in.
Ga is about to play another team that is in the top 20 in offense, let's see how the defense does. Against everyone else, minus Alabama, the best offensive team is probably around 50th or so, maybe even worse. The offense as of now, is just pure garbage.

Right JimmyBob: Kirby is infallible, to ye who worship him. I'll give you one thing, he is definitely the king of under-achieving and making excuses. The #5 team in the country (seriously?) just scored 14 points against an unranked opponent they've now beaten 11 years in a row. And I'd be careful with the unsupported crap you sling at JT Daniels. UGA is going to need him if they're going to come even close to beating Alabama, assuming they get that far.
Mark Bradley after the game...
" If the aim was to win while showing as little as possible, Saturday’s result can be stamped “mission accomplished.” If the intent also was to infuriate every Georgia fan from Hiwassee to Hahira … well, the Bulldogs managed that, too.
Said Bennett: “We’ve just got to score more points. We’ll be all right.”
And maybe they’ll do both – score more and be all right. This is a great defensive team, and it’s not bad at running the ball. If memory serves, Vince Dooley won six SEC championships and a national title doing little else. But Dooley last coached on Dec. 31, 1988. The game has changed a bit since. "
Was Kirby and Georgia playing Possum?
Guess we'll find out next weekend...
Love you, Kirby. Keep blowing out our rivals, averaging 11 wins a year and thumbing your nose at the clown/trolls on the comment boards. And Mike Griffith is easily the worst beat reporter I’ve ever read. Gets a narrative that’s a lie and beats it to death. So, Mike, if Newman only left because Daniels beat him out, then why is Daniels still running scout team? Don’t believe a word this guy says.

CKS is in the denial stage now. I'm starting to be very concerned. If he keeps on he's going to Mark Richt himself right out of a good gig.

If we can score we will not win against real teams. It's turning into a dumpster fire fast.
Najee looking like the best back in the country.....well... there is that guy at Clemson.
Anyone watching BAMA boat racing Miss St. Devonte Smith in a class by himself.

Mike is turning into a newer version of Chip Towers. Everything he writes is slanted it fit his own narrative. Bennett’s quote is a great example of that. His full quote included “except for me” part that Mike completely left out and was meant to be both complementary of his teammates and self deprecating at the same time. Same thing anytime he writes about Zamia White. Can’t just give him credit. Nope has to throw in the silly dig about still not having a run longer than 26 yards. I’m about done ready his stuff.
Kirby refuses to acknowledge the reality of the team lack of offense and average at best quarterback play. It is the same song after every poor performance game. You know who else didn't face the reality of how his team performed and went into his press conference singing the same tune....Dan Quinn. We witness and seen what happened there.
I've told ya'll about Kirby after the National Championship game that I saw the reincarnation of Ray Goff with a mixture of Mark Richt 2.0. He's no different accept he has the arrogance and stubbornness of Championship caliber Nick Saban minus the Championships. But, he will continue to get a pass because he's an alum and as I stated, Ray Goff. I give Kirby a couple of more years on that short leash of being the head coach and the sugar high that he will EVER bring a national championship to UGA. He needs to allow his OC to coach not be Conservative Kirby. All he wants to do is kick field goals, play a little defense and run the clock. You're not going to win many games in any league the way today's football is being played. I don't know why they will not move Bennett outside of the pocket or move the pocket. He's Russell Wilson height and he can't throw over his own offensive line. Kirby pulling the same stunts with the previous QBs.
Dude is delusional! if he doesn’t improve things in a hurry, and I mean next week, with our QB troubles...then he won’t be in Athens for much longer. I’ve never seen a coach so stubborn that it is actually hurting the program in the long run, not being able to get good offensive recruits. We are LSU in the early 2010’s.
Kirby’s words don’t match up with what we all see with our own eyes. If things are done in practice but not in games, what does that say? Either the players can’t play at crunch time, or the coach doesn’t know how to evaluate his practices. Kirby says he wants an explosive offense but he doesn’t put his team in position to be explosive. His talk doesn’t match up with his actions.....
