Re: Monroe Freeling has the most to gain for Georgia football entering the College Football Playoff
I’m guilty of giving Freeling very harsh criticism from last year’s playoff game. But that ended very quickly as this season started. Freeling has More than redeemed himself. I didn’t realize he was playing injured when I made my comments. I was wrong and I’m sorry. He has went on to be a great player with a great future. Hope he continues to be dominant as the Dawgs work toward another Ntl. Title. Go Dawgs !!

I don’t gamble on sports but I can tell you this the Dawgs are gonna win the Ntl. Title barring a complete and total implosion. Save up your money for all the Dawgs Ntl. Title gear because it’s coming !! Go Dawgs !!

Re: The five data points that define the 2026 Georgia football recruiting class
@Kasey said "there’s also way more 3 star players which might have something to do with it."
Absolutely, that is why I added that there is only a 6% chance that a "3* or lower will get drafted but that is because there are so many of them" part. But with only 255 NFL selections and the draft availability pool of around 500 eligible former 4 and 5 star athletes each NFL draft day you would think the total of 4/5* selections would be higher than the 40% threshold, yes? Clearly the HS star rankings don't vet out the late developers vs the early developers when it comes to football talent and ability…I have always been of the mindset that the most pertinent data point when it comes to recruiting High School kids is that if most of your players signed are top 1000 in the country, you're going to have a very solid level of depth. Develop them and look out! Therefore I am good with not paying a HS kid 5 million dollars just because 247 comp says he is a can't miss 5* prospect…I'd rather see NIL spent on 10 top 500 kids making a half million who want to play for team and glory. If they develop, then perhaps pay them more to keep them.

Re: The five data points that define the 2026 Georgia football recruiting class
Simple answer, a big portion of these "elite of the elite" HS 5stars already think they are developed and ready for the college game, therefore let the bidding begin…and when they don't get the results they thought, they enter the TP after a year or two and do it all over again. Development is overrated if you're already making millions a year on the talent you have shown…

Re: The five data points that define the 2026 Georgia football recruiting class
Our class is still top notch and Kirby will develop these players - proven record. With all the coaching changes, I see UGA adding more players than usual from the portal. I think we add one to two players on the DL, maybe even one LB, one RB, and one impact WR. I think the portal will be used to make "impactful" depth. I think attitude, work ethic, and personality of the players UGA seeks to add to the team will be heavily considered. If you just want a check, go somewhere else - classic Kirby. Of course, the players UGA adds will also depend on which current players for us enter the portal, too.
Re: Why Georgia football national title hopes better than odds suggest
I think the toughest teams in the field for Georgia to play are Ohio State and Ole Miss. Georgia would crush Indiana, and handle all the others just fine. Go Dawgs!
Re: Why Georgia football national title hopes better than odds suggest
The buzz will end soon enough. The Buckeyes are no where near the team they were last year, especially late in the season, and Indy has never seen a defense like what the Dawgs are bringing. I think the Rebels will score about half as many as the first go round. Kirby could not change his defensive scheme until he could trust the back end. The players have all bought in and are now producing numbers comparable to the two National Championship years. The Dawgs are going for three out of last five, and will have beaten the two teams that won the other two. Dawgs on top!
Re: Monroe Freeling has the most to gain for Georgia football entering the College Football Playoff
“Demeanor, character, leadership, approaches the game the right way,” Georgia coach Kirby Smart said of Freeling in November.
He has quietly become a weapon for this high-power offense, and can make the playbook bigger in 3rd down situations. A healthy O-Line will make this team hard to stop and fun to watch, and with Bobo unable to play everyone else will step up and carry the load. I hope to see the same high level of energy that we saw from the Dawgs while taking care of business against Alabama!
GO DAWGS!
