One things for sure, Smith Shawver ain't coming out of the rotation when Strider comes back. He was pumping it 99 yesterday, gave up zero. I think I read he's given up one run in his last three starts. Yessirrrrr

I hope those newby's put in the work this summer. Upper classmen need to have those guys ready. Jordan Davis separated himself with summer workouts - ran every day, worked with leadership. Big opportunity.

Our pitching has been consistently good to very good. Can we keep it up vs better teams, the teams ahead of us? It might even improve when Strider returns. More importantly, can we start hitting more consistently? If, and it's a BIG if, we can, I like our chances for a bit of revenge.

Paying kids who have never played a snap at the college level is a roll of the dice at best. The best way to fix it is to make it an equal amount for all Freshman and the pay increases after that based on performance. $2.5 million may sound great, but this kid better back it up fast or he'll be the poster boy for how ridiculous this whole thing really is. And if they leave to go anywhere else, they pay back what's left on their contract.

I remember ESPN's love for Bryce Young. He was the greatest in their opinion. Stetson Bennett was too short to play and was no where near the same quality. After Bennett beat the crap out of Bama, Bennett hugged Bryce Young and the truth was obvious to everyone - Stetson was an inch taller. 2 years we hear how great Bryce Young was, and how no one could measure up.
