Re: Kirk Herbstreit calls out ESPN personality for UGA fandom
Agree. But, imo...the SEC and BIG10 still hold all the leverage. The next contract ain't signed just yet....to the best of my knowledge. Sankey is in position to drive his own bargain...if he can get the BIG's onboard. ESPN be damned.
Re: Kirk Herbstreit calls out ESPN personality for UGA fandom
Lmao....Somebody should introduce the ole boy, to a mirror.
Herbstreit & Dez are two of the biggest "Homer's" on ESPN.
And, let's not forget Herbstreit's "Coach"....[Lee Corso].....had to be propped up on the set of College GameDay, for the last 3 or 4 years. Would they have done that for an SEC guy??? Not No....but, Hell No!
Time for the SEC and ACC to put together a Network of their own. ESPN badly needs competition. Till then.…guess I gotta hold my nose, when I'm "required" to watch the game on that Network. I try to keep it, so that I can fast forward through the commercials and various irrelevant storylines.…with random shots of Celebrities. Lol....don't know what we'd do without em [sarc].
Re: Georgia offensive players absent on All-SEC preseason 1st- and 2nd-team in popular magazine
Yet, on October 19, 2024, in Austin, Texas, The Dawgs beat the #1 team in the nation, The Texas Longhorns….by two TD's???
Then The Dawgs go on to beat The Horns again to win the SECC…..the only valid takes from last year is that The Dawgs played the toughest schedule in CF, they suffered an inordinate amount of injuries, they suffered the on again/off again lack luster leadership of a "headcase" QB….but we made the playoffs…..only to surrender to seasonal fatigue and a less talented team that was motivated to play well beyond their talent level…….I look expectantly to the 25 season, where our talent gaps have been "overfilled" and TEAM leadership will prove to set the highest standards seen in the "Kirby era"…..the ONLY wailing and gnashing of teeth will come from our season 25 opponents…….the weeks before they play us and in the locker room after they play us!

Re: Georgia offensive players absent on All-SEC preseason 1st- and 2nd-team in popular magazine
Agree with Steele. Frazier is a good RB, but he's certainly not among the best in the SEC. Our RB room has a lot of "potential", but the proof will be in the pudding.
And let's just stop with all the talk about how great our TE room is!! Good grief. Luckie and Delp aren't elite. Period. They are nowhere near as talented as Bowers, Washington, or Tyler Warren. And they haven't even been used very much. The other guys behind them, again, have potential, but Bobo hasn't used the TE room much at all. The OL is average in the SEC at best. Our WR room looks great, but looks can be deceiving.
We've got a LOT to prove on offense this season and tons of new faces.
Re: Georgia offensive players absent on All-SEC preseason 1st- and 2nd-team in popular magazine
“But in the world of perception, it’s interesting to think that Georgia remains considered among the championship contenders, even as some players start the season without much of a celebrated identity.”
My guess the disconnect is out of respect for CKS and his accomplishments in the past. And my perception is this is not unusual for the mags. Even on defense, we don’t get a lot of respect for great players. Our guys game minutes are often spread across several good players so there’s no “wow” stats. All that matters is the star players they overlook in the preseason get drafted to the NFL in the first and second rounds.
Re: Kirk Herbstreit calls out ESPN personality for UGA fandom
abc/espn paid the most money which is why the SEC is there. Fox/CBS likely won’t pony up that dough in the future either, unless someone with huge $ buys CBS from the Redstone family.
ESPN will likely be the highest bidder if some super league forms from the SEC/big10-18.
