Re: Kirby Smart confident in roster building plan compared to SEC, College Football Playoff teams
It’s the dead season . I appreciate the articles and also the comments . No matter if I agree or not so keep them coming and Thanks ! It’s a boring time for college football .
Re: Kirby Smart confident in roster building plan compared to SEC, College Football Playoff teams
Imho...."It's all about the money"....for most people. But, not all people. Kirby's lookin' for "the few good ones" that can take criticism and hard coaching. Who's first instinct, isn't to retreat.
This thing with CFB...imo....is the perfect storm of; Covid Kids with a case of entitlement, The Pussification of America & The "Entitled Generation". Lol....not to mention greed.
The search has been on for grounded kids with a solid family support system.…steeped in God's teachings. Those are the kids that will persevere.
You can fix some....but, not all. As we've seen over the last several years.
Go Dawgs!

Let’s just say Georgia hires you as the next coach this year - you have the reins, what would you do differently??…you’re on the clock.

Maybe they are selling the farm and going ALL Indiana on everyone.

Re: Matthew Stafford becomes third former Georgia Bulldog to win NFL MVP, announces 2026 plans
With the vote being THAT close....How do you NOT include Drake Mayes' stats as a comparison?
Wouldn't you want to know the stat differential, if we're gonna compare vote differentials?. Just sayin'....seems very relevant to the story, to me. Maybe yall need a sports editor. Lol
Go get em Big Red. Bennett will be the 4th recipient before this decade is over...imo.

Re: Matthew Stafford becomes third former Georgia Bulldog to win NFL MVP, announces 2026 plans
I thought the awards show in general was was pretty decent last night. THey obviously went with a comedic approach for entertainment between awards. Sort of an old shool roast of some of the players and organizations in the audience. I don't know how the players took it but by-in-large I was reminded of the Old DeanMartin roasts back in the day with Don Rickles where nothing was off the table. You could tell with the youngsters they didn't know what the mess was going on. THere were many nervous smiles, like "is this OK to laugh at", "will I be roasted in the court of public opinion if I do?" You could see it in their eyes. Shame we live in such a politically correct world.
Re: Matthew Stafford becomes third former Georgia Bulldog to win NFL MVP, announces 2026 plans
What a great honour for Matthew! Extremely glad he will be coming back next year. To be the man he is and be a fellow alumnus of the University of Georgia makes me very proud—bravo for you, Matthew.
Re: Matthew Stafford becomes third former Georgia Bulldog to win NFL MVP, announces 2026 plans
Well deserved and congratulations Matthew ! Don’t see many quarterbacks his age play the game hard and not shy away from being hit . He’s definitely taken some hits over the years. A man’s man and a Dawg’s Dawg .
Re: Kirby Smart confident in roster building plan compared to SEC, College Football Playoff teams
I think Kirby's gonna do something, this year...that he's been trying to avoid.
Imo.…he's going to simplify the defense....and, allow the athletes to be athletes. He doesn't have 2 or 3 years to teach an NFL system, anymore.
It'll be close....but, not the same. It does no good, to have a complicated defense....if only 2 or 3 guys can execute it properly.
Kirby said from the get-go....Each player requires a certain number of quality reps, before they "know what they're doing". 1 year ain't enough.
Typically....under Kirby's current program a player wouldn't be "ready", till sometime in their Junior Year.
Imo....If you simplify and accelerate development....I think you become more competitive on the Saturday field.......but, come Sunday's....you won't be as prepared.
Other programs, such as OSU, have already made that adjustment, which is why you have skill players entering the NFL, less prepared and more entitled than ever before.
Lolol....everybody talks about how the "New CFB" is destroying the game at the College level. When actually, it's having a negative impact up and down the chain....with respect to quality of football and officiating on the field.
For instance....I couldn't care less about the Super Bowl. Which I had forgotten about till recently. Watching the NFL, today.....is akin to watching wrestling with my Grandparents when I was a kid.
This ain't the game I grew up on. Ya can't even take pride in a solid hit, anymore.. without wondering if it's gonna be accompanied by a flag and a 5 minute review. And then....THEY STILL GET IT WRONG! Lmao
